Description

Well my friends, I think – sadly – this will be my last TNA post for a while. I’m going to have to give the girls an indefinite furlough just when things were about to get interesting… I made the mistake of installing SR3 for Poser 8, and it has now become completely unusable. It was working relatively smoothly on my laptop with only the occasional crash, but now it is pretty much useless. It crashes constantly; it locks up and will not complete a render, like I said – pretty much useless. I have, of course, submitted a ticket to Smith Micro, but I’m not holding my breath. Although their tech support is one of the best I’ve worked with, I’ve not had a lot of success getting Poser 8 to work 100% reliably on two different computers. I’m blaming myself mostly, because I’m one of those people that loads a bunch of stuff on my computer(s), and I’m sure there is a conflict going on somewhere. Still it’s kind of discouraging when a software company issues a ‘service release’ to address issues in a piece of software, and it ends up causing more problems than it is supposed to solve. Anyway, until either this gets resolved, or I can scratch together enough money to rebuild my quad-core system as a graphics workstation, it looks like my Poser rendering work is pretty much hosed for now. Maybe it’s time I started learning DAZ. This was to be panel 1 of page 6 – the Girls have entered the Hype Club, to meet and talk with the dancer, Caroline who was the last known person to talk with Dr, Aflovowitz before he disappeared. To be continued….. Hope to be back with the TNA Girls soon. :-( Update: 06-20-10 Looks like everything is working again. It took pretty much all day Saturday to get things straightned out, but Poser is working relatively trouble-free now. Looks like a short vacation for the girls, but they don't mind - they would rather be in the thick of things keeping thier fans happy!

Oh Rod, a sad moment to say goodbye to the TNA Girls, just when they already got the momentum to shine with lots of fans out there (including me). Sorry to hear about your system crashing. But we'll be here until you come back with the TNA Gs.

Excellent scene Rod! Love the sexy pose of the dancer and the light effects! Real bummer about your system though. Cab the SR3 be un-installed? Perhaps you can save your runtimes and un-install everything and then re-install Poser. Of course you will likely want to wait until you see if SM can help I guess. Hope you get things resolved soon. Keep in touch.

UPDATE! Keep your fingers crossed, fans of TNA! After downloading a buttload of updates (thought I had auto-update turned on - I guess not), it appears that Poser is working again. I've just done a couple of renders, including a 3360 X 2100 image with lots of lights and a few complex mats. The TNA Girls may be back soon!

sad at the beginning and now seeing your update glad lol. the worst thing is nowadays instead of improving an update might lead to crashes. here i see it was partly your fault. me too i had an issue on daz but when i got the latest version all was fine my fault it was there. nice render and glad you can continue. see you.

Ok, Rod...this proves if I dilly-dally long enough the problem get's fixed before I have to pull out my crying towel. Lol. Glad to hear things at Poser HQs are back up and running. TNA rocks! :-)))

ARGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! $%^#*em>@&#;^$@&</em^^@@ Man I love these girls. Highly trained operatives brought down by an evil computer attack. The TNA IT guys need to get this malicious assault taken care of and get these girls back in action. The men of the world are counting on TNA. On a side note, I had the same problems with Poser 8. The crashes got to be so bad that it was pointless to even try to make a new image. I found the perfect solution though, I went back to Poser 7. ;)

Just read your update and hope things work out. Poser 8 seems to be a demon package. I am staying with poser 7, at least it is stable. I have the poser pro 2010 but not going to install it until I have holidays and several days in a row to get it working. Hope the girls make a comeback.
