Description

I think this looks better in full size view, it looks sharper. This image was just an excuse for me to make some experiments with HDRI, which I had never made before in a serious manner. Hence the title. Why 229? Simply because this is my 229th image. :-) In my opinion, in order to have the best results with human skin using HDRI in Vue, it's fairly important to use GR. With other lighting models, the skin appears fairly "dead", IMO. GR gives it that sort of luminosity of living tissue. I created this character for an image I never posted (and never will). I posted just the presentation of this character, some days ago but I didn't like the main image with her and so didn't post it. I just used her again here, after making her a special "suit" in Zbrush, which I felt appropriate to take some of the potential from HDRI. Basically, I wanted to take advantage of the realism provided by HDRI and build an impossible image. I think the contrast of realism and physical impossibility fit well together. :-) Thanks for watching!

This experiment is a great success! She seems so human, soft and a bit melancholy and shy, and her outfit and the spheres so shiny and demanding attention. Its delightful.

Well, physical impossibiliy is what makes art, art(; this is a fantastic image. And even the dead expression on hjer face gives her a sombre tone like that of a toy. I love this image! Really, really nice work.

Nice mesh extract :) I've always been in two minds about HDRI, had some very mixed results with it but I don't normally use GR so I might give that a try too

Physically impossible? Rubbish. The suit could be some kind of liquid metal nano-technology, and the spheres could be anything from magnetic levitation to vectored Brownian movement controlled by quantum level probability mechanics. She could be a Cyborganic human in the year 83585 AD regarding a daisy's cellular structure before cloning it. A really spectacular image with great imagination behind it. I'm inspired by it.
