Description

Nikon 7900 image. At the beginning of August, I posted an image of one of these spiders. I have seen a number of them since then and about 2 weeks ago, I got another shot of one. These spiders are very tiny as you can see and I have not been able to focus on one when it is on it's web. I need a larger surface to lock onto, so I used my finger. That also gives a visual size reference. These spiders seem to have some relationship with much larger species because they feed from the prey that the large spider has trapped in it's web. Usually the large species has been Black and Yellow Argiopes but occasionally they are seen in the webs of Spiny Crablike Spiders. I think the species is interesting and this view gives a better view of the cone shaped body than my last image did. Thanks to those who take the time to comment. Lee.

This is a beautiful spider! And so very tiny. But don't get the wrong idea...its still a spider and I'll leave you to let them crawl on you ...not on me.:-) Stupendous macro!

Great macro, the spider looks like it has been painted with a metalic paint, he could be the prince at the 'Ugly Bug Ball'.

They are very beautiful. Like Mrs Lubner, I will let you allow them to crawl on you and get these magnificent captures whilst I just walk by because I couldn't focus on them since I had no focal reference. Bunny

You are quite brave... in my opinion, I had a spider on my arm the other day, and just about fainted! lol. Great shot of this little arachnid!

Such a tiny thing, very interesting notes as well. An arachnid example of a community of unrelated "people" living in harmony.
