Description

Again taken with my lovely new sigma 70-200 f2.8 :) So after yesterdays upload was effectively not a real full powered swing, this shot is what happens when luck says you cant get the moment of impact when taking a full swing (club head speed at full swing is probably around 100mph btw ;)). In fact if you look at the top right you can see the shadow of the club shaft in the background which means the club head is only about 10-20cm out of shot! :-\ Adam had some fun trying to find his tee after a few of the shots, depending on how you hit the ball and/or tee makes it do different things... one would travel about 5 metres forward and another maybe 7 metres back - this one just flipped forward about 10 cm =) This is actually a yellow tee but i didnt like how it looked so this B&W is actually a blue channel extraction... The title comes from the mantra i was told when learning how to hit a golf ball... you should keep your eye on the ball (and thus head at the same level) throughout your swing... meaning if you are hitting it right you should still be looking at where the ball was after you have hit it. Anyway, thanks for stopping by and taking a look. Enjoy! Rich

Very cool shot! I think that the ball not being in the shot, just gives reinforcement to the phrase "keep your eye on the ball". IF you don't watch it, you'll lose sight of it quickly! Awesome.

I think the work you did on this shot is great. Taking swing shots was one of my fav things to do back in SA too. I got a few actual impact shots, you'll feel like a king when you see your first really good one... Glad you like the lens!

What a great capture. How many tries did it take? This shot belongs in a golf magazine.
