Hey everyone! I'm just back for a quick visit, I havn't been around too much lately. I've had a lot of stuff going on lately, and havn't been around for a few months. I've been getting back into the music business, and havn't really done much in Carrara lately, but I do have a bunch of unfinished work to get done. I promise to post some work when i get it done. Right now i'm working on a new CD, and must focus on my music. But the new contest sound interesting and I might try to pull something together for it, The PP2 would be nice, I have the first one, and love it. Merry Xmas! kaom

Clint, I know what you mean. I've been an artist and a musician most of my life. I played in bands growing up, and played the bar scene here in Denver for most of my 20's. Then when i about to turn 30 a few years back, I freaked out, and thought"what the hell have I done with my life?" and enrolled in school for Multimedia, then my music suffered beacuse I completely stopped playing because I was focusing so much on scholl. Well now I'm no longer in school, and I was reawakened this past Halloween at a Janes Addiction concert, and I said, I gotta get back in. So here I am, trying to write some new songs and playing my guitar with more intensity than ever before. I went out and picked up a new Paul Reed Smith, and away I go. Do I recall seeing some pictures of you Clint in the members gallery playing some music , with (possibly your wife?)Now I get to design another album cover yee-haaa! My favorite little graphics projects. I'd like to hear some of your music Clint, maybe we could exchange CD's? Gotta go, and chill out for the night. Merry Xmas, Happy Chaunakuh(I hope I spelled that right), Happy Kwanza and all the rest to all. I hope everyone has a great holiday season. kaom

Hey Kaom...good to see you back here again...I though you were dead! I too know how the music scene goes. Been playing in bands since I was old enough to hold my bass! Good luck with the cd! What type of music do you play anyways? Jared

ClintH ( ) posted Tue, 01 January 2002 at 10:25 AM

Jared - What type of music do you play? My band plays New Age Rock. We are kinda a cross between Pink Floyd, Enigma and ELO (Electric Light Orchestra). I listed to a lot of stuff...from POD to Manson to Pantera to System of the Down to Cindarella to Natalie merchant to Enigma etc... ;) Clint

Clint, do you know Labradford ? I think you should like that, even though it's what they call "post-rock", and not stricly New Age . They're american, but their main audience is in Europe i think . EXCELLENT band :) !!!

ClintH ( ) posted Tue, 01 January 2002 at 3:52 PM

No - But I will check them out! Thanks litst. Clint

It's good dope, man :) By the way, welcome back Kaom !

Clint, at the moment I'm in a Pop-Punk band...something along the lines of Blink 182 or Alien Ant Farm...I enjoy playing funk more but this passes the time...and it's rather hard to find musicians where I live... I listen to about everything but I find myself listening to electronica most of the time mainly because it relaxes me. Paul Oakenfold is high up there, so is ATB, and Sasha and Digweed. But I listen to about anything and everything. I'm just not a big rap or country fan. Jared

Hey rockjock! What up? I know, it's been a few months. I play everything from jazz to psychedelic ambient porno music. My band is me and one other guy, we don't play live anymore, just record CD's. litst I've heard of Labradford, are they space rock? Gotta go, I'll come back later today. Happy new year everyone. kaom

litst ( ) posted Wed, 02 January 2002 at 9:08 AM

Like i said, Labradford is "Post Rock", just a bunch of lazy guys who are too lazy to put some strength in their music :) . Another good example is Tortoise, they're american too .

kaom ( ) posted Wed, 02 January 2002 at 6:27 PM

litst, I'm familiar with most types of music in the world, but for some reason, Post Rock doesn't ring a bell for me. What exactly is "Post Rock"? Could it be a different term for a word we use something else for. Does Post Rock have any relation to Prog Rock? I'm asking because, you said not strictly new age. Space Rock encompasses everything from new age sounds to prog or progressive sounds. Bands like Hawkwind, Gong, Sebadon Glitz, Aman Dul, Ozric Tentacles, are a few space rock band I can think of right now. But I really want to know what Post rock is.LOL kaom P.S.- I'm still waiting for you to write a book on Carrara litst. You would help so many people. In fact, you and Mark Bremmer should write a complete Carrara bible.

One link, and you'll know all about Post-rock :) ! But i warn you : if you choose to listen to all the bands listed there, take some prozac, just in case ;) . Smog, for example is particularly depressing ... But that's relaxing in a way, and those guys have talent :) ! About the book ... well, i'm thinking about it but it's too soon right now for me i think . I'd love to make one in the future, though :)
