Hello all...not sure how many of you have revisited http://www.toucan.co.jp/product/3ds/3dsFrameSetE.html. He was very kind to meet my request for conversion of his flowers and tree flowering plants to 3ds format which took him quite awhile. Btw, his name is Tohru Miyazawa San. Attached is two images making use of his freebies which I have done for his "just up" gallery :) Bill Tesign

Just about to tell you that but you beat me to it :) Self answering service huh!?

Hey Varian....I'm the only one posting to the gallery there. If you can, using his models, I think he would love to have it :) Btw, Laurie, check out his fish and insect too.

Hi there Bill... Yes, I've visited this site previously and thought that the real treasures were the butterflies... anyway, I did a picture with the butterfly, I'll send it to the guy... However, here's a heads up... The flowers import great into Vue, however, in Bryce, they're a disaster... They take forever to load, and then, when they do load, they explode into zillions of pieces and you don't have a flower, you have scattered pieces of the model.. don't know why that is, bryce is usually very good at importing 3ds files...

tesign ( ) posted Fri, 12 October 2001 at 10:19 PM

LOL!...Tradivoro...I have to try and see that for myself. Keep you posted. Anyway, may be to get around it...have Tohru San flowers imported into Poser and export them as obj for Bryce...have not tried but may work all right. Thanks for info :)

Hi Tradivore...this is the 3ds White Rose. I just did an import in B5 and it looks okay..just need to rotate it upright. I have not tried others and may be you want to give the WR a go for reference. I really have answer as to why your's 'exploded.

tradivoro ( ) posted Fri, 12 October 2001 at 11:00 PM

The ones that were a problem were the gerbera and the hanana... Let me know if you have problems with those...

tradivoro ( ) posted Fri, 12 October 2001 at 11:37 PM

Ok, the white rose is fine... Hanana and gerbera are still a problem... hanana works fine in Vue...

OK Tradivoro, here is the juice of it. I do not want to go into what I tried as I got confuse myself....LOL! I rather just tell you what I did and that it works. You are right about the Hanana and Gerbera, not working the way it should. Now,see the two plants I got into B5. Here is what I did... The Gerbera works okay exporting as an obj from Poser. The Hanana has to be exported as an obj in Poser, reconvert again to 3ds mesh, and the bmp image created as a B Mat in order to work. There are other ways but I think I'm confuse enough...LOL! life short, when you get what you want...go on to the next :)

tradivoro ( ) posted Sat, 13 October 2001 at 8:35 AM

I know what you mean about life being short... :) Well, look, they work in Vue, I'm happy, and whatever flowers work in Bryce, that's fine too... But I'm glad it's not just me screwing it up... By the way, what is B mat??

tradivoro ( ) posted Sat, 13 October 2001 at 8:37 AM

Thanks for researching the Bryce thing...

tesign ( ) posted Sat, 13 October 2001 at 8:43 AM

Oh sorry...LOL! I use "B" bekuz you know this is a "V" compound. I don't want any shotgun pointing at me for being "trepassing" and treading on wrong water. "Mat" stand for "material" and "B" you should know. Yeaj..."B" for Bye x2!...see, no shotgun :-)

Axe555 ( ) posted Sat, 13 October 2001 at 1:10 PM

Hey cool! Thanks tesign! Gonna have to send an email thanking him as well. :D Rich

tradivoro ( ) posted Sat, 13 October 2001 at 1:26 PM

I see, you didn't want to use the B word... :)

tradivoro ( ) posted Sat, 13 October 2001 at 1:28 PM

Here's another question for you, how come your butterfly's hairy and mine isn't?? Not that butterflies are usually hairy....

tesign ( ) posted Sat, 13 October 2001 at 2:18 PM

They are in fact if you look closely....errr...at least so far those I've seen here. Their abdomen is never shiny or 'polish' as those of hornet or some wasp. If you look closely, so are their wings which has a powery texture. All post production :)
