Oh, the sunset challenge. Another day, another forum Mike ;). Dig's had this going on for weeks. Wanted to come as close as possible to a "smog induced" sunset. He's from, er, sunny California ;). Of course, if you'd never been there you'd never have seen a good smoggy sunset like California makes 'em. I used to live there and, for all the pollution that causes them, they really are quite beautiful. The colors are gorgeous :). Laurie
Tallahasse, Florida? Yeah, that's "out west". Whereabouts in PA? I'm from Philly. A few weeks ago I stopped by here to see if I could get anyone interested in making a "smog induced sunset". I was having no luck making one myself, and hoped to learn a few tricks. "Course, you folks have so many challenges goin on round here, I didn't know if anyone would have the time or interest. Anyway, Marge came to the resue. Thought I'd post my pic in case anyone was still interested. I still hope to re-render it with some finishing touches. And thanks, glad you like it.
Me, I'm from Harrisburg, also overlooking the, ahem, beautiful Susquehanna River...hehehe. Well Mike, at least there's not raw sewage floating in it anymore like there was when we were little kids, at least not in Harrisburg ;). And it's a good thing you are in Florida right now (I can't believe I'm saying this!!) because for the last week we have been positively ROASTING in the heat. It's been rather fierce. Isn't that a switch? LOL. Laurie
No more floods, either. I was in the Big Bad One in '72 from Hurricane Agnes. totally devastated my town. Had water to the top of the first floor ceiling. There were dead fish in the basement, after tha water finally wernt away. Coffins sitting in the middles of streets.... WEll, we have the hurricane threat here, but so far I've been lucky. :) Sorry to hear about your heat wave. My Mom (who also lives in Florida), is there right now in Allentown on business, and has said the same.
I was in Harrisburg at the time of Agnes too. We had water up to the second floor level and lost the cat in process (got down in the basement and wouldn't come down off the furnace and we had to leave him. There was already waist-deep water in the basement at the time). I have a book about the '72 flood. I should send you some pics of your area ;). Laurie

I've noticed that there's some bigger challenges going on around here, than the one I presented a few weeks back. Even so, I can't just let it die. (I'm obsessed, so shoot me.) This is still a WIP, but it gives the idea of what I'm after. Maybe I shouldn't call it smog induced. It's more of a chemically enchanced sunset. *bg*
