is there such a thing a location mapps for V4 that guide where each part of the skin mapps go? I am trying to make skin changes for one of my characters that show injury and bruising but as you can see below I am having a few problems. (poser 11 and firefy)  I want red marks around the neck to show attempted strangulation, but I cannot work out the back of the neck. also blending the back of the head to the face map is a problem. advice is most welcome.

These could give you some ideas to help you. LIE files are pngs  and can be placed on character in 2d program, then used in poser.

I placed these directly into poser, did not apply in a 2d program and make any adjustments. This is the V4++ base character.

Neck is part of the torso.

i recall trying to draw where hosiery seams would appear along the back of the leg (so I could use the texture in a Poser MAT layer) but gave up. I purchased seamed stockings and figured that would help me figure it out but it didn't. If anyone can do it, it'd make a great freebie. 

If you want to paint over the edges of those maps, that's what software like Blacksmith3D, Substance, Zbrush, etc are for. I don't think you're going to get that right in a 2D graphics program.

If you don't need to go to the edge, you can use the UV maps / templates for the model to know where the edges are, or what I usually do is load an existing map as a layer and then paint over it in another layer. That gives you pretty good references for where you are working. Then hide that layer before you export the result.

Thanks, but when I used UV Mapper to make a template for the stockings, it didn't align with V4's limb texture map. I guess if I want a seam line, I have to get another app or just use the stockings figure.

If you want templates for another figure, let me know. If I have it, it doesn't take long to make them. Stitchwitch makes them automatically and adds the colors. I can also set it up to show the different material zones, if you'd like.
