Subject: KPL Original Freebies are Ending

dyraven ( ) posted Tue, 24 March 2026 at 2:39 PM · edited Sat, 16 May 2026 at 6:45 AM

After 18 years, we are going out of business. With the rising costs of maintaining a website and the ease of making AI generated images has become, this hobby is no longer a viable endeavor. From now until the April 23, the entire MeshWorks3D .net catalog will be available for download for a one time cost. Many of my Freebies here will no longer be available. Get them while you can. Thanks to everyone for the years of support.

How does one get all of the items for one cost, I do not see that option on the site. I found it, it is on the last page or page 6.

It's on the front page too, probably just needed to refresh the page frame.

Is the Night Club Bundle unavailable? I get a 404 error when I click the link

Sorry, I am confused.  $20 for everything?  But you said on your site that each product needs to be bought separately, so how does that work with a one-time payment?  There are a few products I am very interested in!  Sorry to see you close down.

It was a limited time only item that I wasn't able to delete without effecting other items. Each piece can be grabbed individually.

Any products you want from the full catalog. Just click the 'Store Closing Sale' button (front page or on page 6 in the 'Products' pages). PayPal will direct you to a page that has all the items on it. Bookmark it. Clicking the products Download link will open a page to download the item and any thing else that went with it if available.

I've only had a few visitors to my site in the last year. Hard to advertise an external store when you are shadow banned everywhere. So, it was time to exit the 3D community. Hopefully you can get some use of some of my products. They are now considered 'Legacy', but all are universal and will load and work in newer Daz and Poser.

Sorry to hear this. I, too, as a book cover designer, am having to adjust because of AI. Honestly, I strongly believe that when we choose AI over creating art its just giving up. I hope you continue to create for you.

I am sorry to hear you are closing.

The New HD Toaster from Wamco toasts bread more evenly and acurately than Standard Toasters. Take advantage of the FULL resolution of your bread and try one today, because if your toast isn't in High Definition, you are not getting the most of your toast!

Just an FYI-

I just now transferred the meshworks3d . net domain name to a provider for safe keeping. The site my be down for a short time while the transfer takes place. This could be for a day or two.

Sorry to hear this! It's very nice of you to give everyone a heads up about it.

I do find it a shame that this is ending. I'm not sure if you're interested in exploring other options, but if you are, I have some possible ideas below?

1) For the hosted freebies on your site, perhaps you could upload them to another site that hosts freebies? Renderosity of course does this but there are others as well if you want other options

2) For the paid items, if the biggest hurdle is the costs of maintaining a website, you could also try making use of a 3d party to sell the items? Renderosity you could try, but again there are other options. Different ones have different restrictions and some are pretty easy to get things up on.

3) If you'd only ever want to have paid items on your own site, there are also some free website builders, etc. that gives you free hosting and since it is codeless, they are the ones who maintain the maintenance part, not you so it would ease up that cost. The down side is there tends to be less flexibility in layouts but if you aren't looking for anything fancy there are a few choices out there as well.

Hope this is helpful. And again, sorry to hear that you have to be closing the site

Thanks for the response Amanda. Not having a way to advertise my store on other market places, I get no traffic to the MeshWorks3d website. No traffic, no sales, no money to pay for hosting. Even 3-4 sales a year would have covered expenses. I put a lot of work into my products, especially the newer ones, which are all at reasonable prices. I don't do social media, so an advertising method is not there either, and probably a mistake on my part. Just like keeping my privacy. As to your suggestions;

1. I have lots of Freebies out there, including here, but since no one views the readMe file included with every item, very few even know about the MeshWorks store website address. Do you remember when I had the Free3dContent webpage up? It went away just like other Freebie hosting sites like Content Paradise, RuntimeDNA, ShareCG, just to name a few.

2. I have been completely obstinate about giving up upto half of my already low price to greedy MarketPlaces. Especially true when there is very little the outfit actually does in return for that 'privilege'. I had all my products on Content Paradise because it was a fair 70/30 split, and they even highlighted a few of my popular items and included them in the newsletter. That's gone too. The big stores stay open because of the revenue they pull in from the actual content creators. Hindsight 20/20, I guess.

There's also the issue of product compatibility. I despise when 3d program vendors make their import/export propitiatory and not open format like it once was, and created this awesome 3d community. For that reason, I refuse to use any DS4+ program, Thus, impossible to meet QA requirements. Since all my products are in a universal format (cr2, pp2, pz2, obj), they are still usable with any flavor 3d app available (currently, but that will eventually change too). [/soapbox]

3. Free website hosting in never free. in those places, YOU are the product. The MeshWorks website is all hand crafted in html to have it look and work the way I like. In my experience, cookie-cutter webbuilder sites don't last very long. On top of that, web builders are not very script friendly for use of paypal buttons. You still need a CC processor to  handle payments, which is also costly.

Anyway, thanks. Just grumpy in my old age and tired of dealing with it.
