Subject: Two rigs on P13

Hello

I just build up my new computer and have weird performance problem on P13. Old rig renders pz3 fine, but new complains cuda errors. Using OptiX on both computers and Poser version is 13.3.1041.0.

Old computer was: Intel 9900K, DDR4 32GB RAM, Asus 2080Ti 11GB, M.2 Sdd 1TB PCIe 4.0 on win10 64Bit Pro

New computer: AMD 9800X3D, DDR5 32GB RAM, Asus 5080 16GB, M.2 Sdd 1TB PCIe 5.0 on win11 64Bit Pro

And yes I always overclock my processors! There is no heat problems!

Do I miss extra program or some special setting in Poser / win11?

You will probably need to update the Video card drivers.

Poser 5, 6, 7, 8, Poser Pro 9 (2012), 10 (2014), 11, 12, 13, 14

Using latest 581.80 WHQL driver both rigs.Β 

Full error:

12:53:49 - SuperFly: Start rendering on device NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080.
12:54:25 - Warning: Error Rendering in SuperFly.
12:54:25 - SuperFly: Out of memory in CUDA queue enqueue (integrator_shade_surface)
12:54:25 - SuperFly: Rendering time: 35.09 seconds.12:54:25 - SuperFly: Rendering memory: 13555 MB.

Poser RAM usage 22.2GB should be plenty left for windows...

Swap file is 12GB on win11. 2GB was enough when i use win10.

Is your driver the Studio version? I mean: often these version are more stable.

There have been complaints about the Game Version drivers.Β  Like Phyl posted, make sure you update to the Studio Version.

After Studio driver install Poser shows new error:

10:56:43 - SuperFly: Start rendering on device NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080.
10:57:28 - Warning: Error Rendering in SuperFly.
10:57:28 - SuperFly: Failed to load CUDA kernel from 'E:\Porsas\Possu13\Runtime\gpu\kernel.fatbin' (Invalid ptx)
10:57:28 - SuperFly: Rendering time: 45.05 seconds.
10:57:28 - SuperFly: Rendering memory: 13555 MB.

Uninstalled / reinstalled Poser13. Now old Pz3 render crashes to desktop without any error.

Event.log shows too small virtual memory to Poser. Made setting to minimum 16GB! Now finally Poser13 renders old pz3 files.

Funny thing is when Poser renders nothing uses virtual memory. So it seems to me win11 memory handling is absolutely garbage.
