Subject: The Oculus Rift and Max

A bit off topic but has anyone here experienced their models through these headsets?

Seeing them in virtual reality is quite amazing. Looking down the chimney of a house or through the window of a hut or just gazing down into the Max teapot spout is remarkable indeed.

Scale up the teapot and jump inside it! Great fun.

I have been using Unity3d (free) to import my Max models and then view them through the Rift headset.

Just wondering if anyone else is using the Oculus Rift for this sort of fun?

I have not, yet.  Although I intend to one day try it out if the opportunity arises.  Also, I'd like to see some models through Microsoft's Augmented Reality HoloLens, when it's perfected.

Yes, I agree.

With VR and the Rift, one gets a closed in feelng with the goggles after  a while.

The Microsoft AR would allow the immediate environment to be "there" and provide some relief.

Certainly both ways allow a different and unique way of seeing your objects and scenes.

I was quite astounded at how they look and the feeling one gets with the Oculus.

Parenting the  rift camera to say a frantic biped is a sure way to get someones attention as it skips and runs through a scene. :)

Luckily Max ingrates beautifully with everything when using the FBX converter.
