Subject: Big Head DAZ People

MNArtist ( ) posted Sun, 18 December 2011 at 11:18 PM · edited Fri, 27 October 2023 at 8:30 PM

I'm sure this is answered somewhere in the threads. I did a search and couldn't find it.

I've installed an external runtime. In order to install DAZ figures, I set up the "dummy" poser.exe file. Got the main figures and their morphs intalled, but when I try to load either V4 elite or M4 The Guy, I end up with the "big head", where the morph doesn't load, and the main figure's head blows up to about 400% normal.

Is there something different I need to be doing?

Thanks

You have not initialized the ".bat" file that the installers leave on your desktop.

Hey Basicwiz -

Thanks for your response. Actually, I did do that. 3 times, in fact.

All right... question number two:

You wouldn't, by chance, be using Windows 7 and did a traditional install of poser with the base runtime in the programs directory would you?

Actually Vista, but i did do a traditional install with the base runtime

There is your issue. Windows is messing with some paths on you.

Reinstall Poser, using the Documents folder as the location of your base runtime. Reinstall M4, morph++ and the other packages from scratch... anywhere you want them. See if that doesn't clean it up for you.

Thanks,basicwiz. Will try that.

Now that's an idea... for a sequel to the Red Queen's exile... Meeting a suitable Big Head Mike the 4th!

Since Poser 4, i've always put Poser in it's own hard drive partition.  and always assign it to E.  even though, these days, A & B are free.  But, i worry my older saved .pz3 file won't find something if it uses literal path e:
