its there..
his goiter"chin roll" might be a little big, or maybe the jaw needs to be a little lower.
but it sure looks like him!
nice work!

quite remarkable. And there are very few fat characters to be had, so quite useful too. Need to get rif of that seam though.

Thanks for the feedback, I'll check on jawline etc. Still a bit of work to do before I freeze the mirror which will get rid of the seam :o) - Baz

Something about the forehead bothers me for some reason. Like there's not enough of it, or his eyes are too high. I can't really put it into words, it just doesn't look quite right to me.

BazC ( ) posted Sun, 08 February 2004 at 5:26 PM

I agree Bonestructure, it's bothering me too. The problem is that it matches my refs, I posted them in an earlier thread. In my refs the front view makes the forehead look even lower though I think that's perspective distortion. I don't see how the side view can be wrong though. I may tweak the top of the skull up a bit just so it looks more normal, dunno, still thinking on it! :o) - Baz

Maybe this will help. Eyes are always centre. Always good to use a grid on the picture as a reference.

Gee, he did have a funny head. I superimposed the classic figure division proportions on him, and his head is not fitting properly. Odd man, hee hee.

By comparison, it seems as though your proportions are about right, his brain has just sunk into his neck, that's why it is bulging like that.

bonestructure ( ) posted Sun, 08 February 2004 at 6:46 PM

That may be why he often wore a bowler hat

LOL! Thanks for your efforts Numanoid!

Only one thing bugging me n that's the bottom lip. Maybe add another edge to the bottom lip, closer to the middle to make it more rounded coz as it is now it looks straight n stretched. Have the new edge come down to meet the last point of the indentation above the chin.. following the shadow in the above pic.
He did have a funny head. Awesome work so far Baz.

I'm envious because in actuality, once done, you can map his own face onto it.

DevineRain - I agree, the shape of the philtrum isn't quite right either, an extra edge loop might benefit both, cheers mate! Bonestructure - If I can find some high res photos I might try that but I have a hankering to attempt a handpainted tex for this :o) Maybe I'll try both! - Baz
