This is the best I could manage and I'm really not happy with it. The model came out OK but the render isn't great, I think it's more to do with my scene set up than the metal texture settings though. The reflections look OK in places (like the handle) and totally unconvincing in others, I think it needs more specular highlights too. I started off trying to create my own procedural texture but got frustrated and ended up using the raytraced silver preset (in Lightwave). Oooo, I've got a lot to learn :o) - Baz

Oh, that chequered texture is the watermark from Lightwave discovery edition. I got some weird marks in the shadows and you can just about make out corresponding ones in the mesh too. It's almost like there's tiny holes in the mesh :o(

Thanks Stu! I got a second wind and did a little more work on it. This one came out a little better :o) Could still do with a little sparkle along the edge of the bowl though.

question. is that a boolian on the rear of the handle or an extrusion. just curious. could i see a wireframe or untextured view of the model as well please Baz cheers stu
