Oh boy! I can hardly wait. As I mentioned elsewhere, I'm always keen to see how others approach tasks in Photoshop, for the simple reason that there are so many ways to accomplish the same goal. I would like to see a tutorial on achieving near photorealistic textures through handpainting. Also... Overcoming UVMap distortion woes. Thanks in advance.!

I always feel a tutorial whatever level of user it is designed for should not only tell you what tool to use but where to find it. So often a tut will say to use such and such a tool and you don't have a clue where it is. This can apply to advanced users because often depending on what they use their software for it may be a tool they don't normally use.

Ajax, Actually the giger ones were a bit of a cheat - I used some photosources for that one - there was a display of Giger's work in sweden? germany? (not sure) and a friend gave me photos that they had taken. But I had to do some massive editing of those. :) One of the base textures in the Giger's World set is actually a closeup of grey granite from the base of a statue that, sadly, is now gone in the 9-11 attack. (was outside on the plaza) Imp Rex That'll be "PhotoSurreal Texture for Fantasy Creatures" and "Avoiding Pixel Smear and Distortion" Bazc, I'll be covering bumpmapping - both making new bumps for existing maps, and making new bumps using your layered pshop file. Helen, I'll keep that in mind. The tough part is that'll I'm writing these for Pshop 5.5 and 6. Many tools moved between the two versions, so it'll be a little harder. Thanks for the input everybody - it really helps me know where to pay more attention in my writing. This is a big subject, so it's taking me some time just to arrange stuff in my head so I have a place to start. :) Lyrra
Well actually I don't use PhotoPaint very often - so I may not be the best person to do that. :) A number of the tutorials I have planned out so far are more conceptual, and less program/tool specific, so those will be good for users of other programs. But the photoshop filter and layer effect specific tutes may have no equivalent tools in other programs. I'll try to remember that as I go. I use CorelDraw in texturing mainly to make elements to bring into Photoshop, although I did make a thinstrap dress texture directly in Corel. Just to see if could :) I can (and have) written massive amounts about using Draw, as I'm a professional Draw trainer in NYC - so those sections can be painfully detailed if I feel like torturing you guys :) Lyrra

Hey guys, Nows the chance for you to give me input on what you all want to know about texture painting for poser/bryce using Photoshop 5.5/6 and CorelDraw! These tutorials will be more advanced topics - so feel free to ask about the weird stuff that's been bugging you :) I just felt that there were plenty of begginner tutorials out there. I plan to concentrate more on handpainted textures than photosource textures - but that depends on what kinds of things will be most appreciated by you guys. I'm also going to cover using painted textures in Bryce and combining your painted textures with bryce materials. For a more complete list of what I'm planning look for my earlier thread about tutorials. Lyrra
