Subject: Dynamic Hair Rendering in Superfly?

Dream9Studios ( ) posted Fri, 23 January 2026 at 11:24 PM · edited Thu, 19 March 2026 at 8:42 PM

I'm having trouble getting some items with dynamic hair to render in Superfly. First it was the fur parts on the Winter Coat by Tipol and then it was Facial A-Hairiness by MortemVetus. It doesn't seem to matter what I do, it gets to the following status and then Poser crashes. I've tried this in both Poser 13 and Poser 14. Can anyone help me out with what I may be doing wrong and how to fix it? Thank you!

I have Facial A-Hairness and it renders with no problem for me in 13. I was going to suggest lowering these

But they seem pretty low already. You might drop the verts to 20, but much lower, and you lose a lot. Are you sure it's the hair? Have you tried rendering some hair without anything in the scene?

I had a similar problem with another prop. I'm not sure if this is the correct solution, but I can render it by pressing "Grow Guide Hairs" for all dynamic hairs in Hair Room.

Are these products officially intended for Poser 11 or earlier versions?

Some creators make hair in ZBrush using Fibermesh. SuperFly doesn’t handle converted Fibermesh-based hair very well, because the strands are extremely thin and the render engine has trouble transmitting light through them.

You can usually test this by going into the Hair Room and changing the density or length. If those settings have no effect, the hair was most likely created in ZBrush. In Poser 12 and newer, this kind of hair can be particularly difficult to render.

Essentially, Poser and the render engine are trying to convert the Fibermesh strands into dynamic hair strands, which often causes issues. I’ve encountered similar warning messages myself in the past.

Facial A-Hairiness isn't fiber mesh. It's dynamic hair from the hair room. I don't have the Winter Coat to check.

yes, but there is a way to port fibermesh over to poser and it will be automatically converted to the poser hair room strands. Even if it is completely poser hair room hair, it can still be too much for Superfly

When I dropped the verts per hair to 10, I was able to render with Superfly in both P13 and P14 in regard to the Winter Coat. I need to try the facial A-Hairiness next.
