Subject: Figament's AI Corner

Byrdie ( ) posted Sun, 06 November 2022 at 10:03 AM

Thanks, gill, I'll keep that in mind for future use. Cannot even install CS3 from the old files I have and of course they no longer support anything but the "latest & greatest", so even if I could find a legit copy of CS6 for sale there's no use buying it. Just installed Gimp and trying to figure it out, again was maybe 20 years since I tried that but it was all over the place at the time so I gave up on it and went with Corel Graphics Suite. Now that has gone the Adobe route too, you can still buy a copy but no updates even though it's around $700 and I'd have to pay full price as they also took away upgrade pricing from just about every other version. Worse, their subscription pricing is higher than for Photoshop with all the bells & whistles. If I were still working in the industry, yeah, I'd have to hold my nose and subscribe. Can't justify it right now though, especially with the state of the economy these days. Maybe when it goes on sale I'll get Photoshop Elements, I had a trial that recently finished and I must say it had much going for it that suited my needs. PaintShop Pro, on the other hand, seems to have gotten out on the wrong side of the bed this latest version. I'm doing a trial of that and so far am not impressed so I'll be sticking with PSP 2020, not upgrading. I'd probably be tempted if it could do the closed eye fix that even Photoshop Elements can do --- Mom, God bless her! always used to complain about how all her pictures got snapped right when she had to blink. Great that there's a way to fix it, not so great that it doesn't come cheap for those of us on tight budgets or who don't do all our work on smart phones.

And ... I've rambled on too long. Here's a Snape. Not sure what spell he's using, but I bet it packs quite a punch.

this is what wombo gave me when the only prompt used was Hagrid's name. I did a little bit of post work.

Byrdie I have PSP - the newest version is X14 but I rarely use it.  Also have Gimp but can't get my head around it so will carry on with PSCS3 for as long as I can.

Just got the demo. I see no way to remove objects at one go unless using stacking, which is no good unless you've a bunch of pix with slightly different variations of the same scene. Would be neat if that was what I had, but in most cases I only have a single image with some artifacts or objects I need gone and can't always crop the crap out. Using the clone/healing brush is trickier than it used to be for me to use as my hand-eye coordination is very much hit or miss these days, between my failing sight and bad arthritis it's more of a miss. :sigh: I have the know-how to fix things manually but not so much the do-how any more.

Giana ( ) posted Sun, 06 November 2022 at 3:09 PM

what exactly do you mean by 'remove objects at one go'?

please try to be as specific as you can via sitemail so this won't be disruptive to the thread, maybe? i'll try to help you if i can...

Finally got something that looks Fighter Jets

This scene looks like something I saw in Kathmandu, you need to know Nepal is just about 50/50 Hindi and Muslim. So one day we took a trip over to what was called, by Ex-Pats anyway, the Monkey Palace, It's got those temples with Eyes Painted on them all the pennant flags, full of those magical Holy monkeys, Prayer wheels everywhere. It's on top of a hill, you can see it from just about anywhere in Kathmandu Hindi religion central, but you get around the back side and across the valley are all these Mosques and Minarets amid the other buildings and houses there, Muslim central who says people just can't get along. This was 1987/1988 working as Systems' Engineer on a International Seismic exploration crew, been a lot of changes in Nepal since then don't think such an inviting place anymore India has too much an influence on the Nepalese Hindu's now.

@Giana, sitemail sent. Thanks.

@Lenord, some very interesting places you've been. Yeah, those craft look much more like fighter jets than faking it with odd birds; I think the problem is MidJourney's in-built nanny functions. It probably goes: "city with birds flying over ok, city with airplanes flying over okay, city with jet fighters flying over NOT okay but the rest of the prompt isn't over the line enough to trigger the forbidden warning so better  mess it up a bit just in case".

Am uploading to the gallery, can someone tell me how add a working You-Tube link to my post? I need to share a video that tells part of the story in my render. I tried putting it in the description field since I couldn't find anywhere else to put it, but it just comes out as plain text.

Lenord ( ) posted Mon, 07 November 2022 at 9:49 PM

I put music vids with most of my gallery posts. Go to the YouTube vid you want do a right click and copy embed code and just post it in the description of the post it will play in the post. I think that's the only place embed still works here, otherwise copy and paste the url of the vid in the description it becomes an active link to it.

trying an Embed in the Forum never tried it before don't usually go to the forums.

<iframe width="1280" height="747" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/BYkk17dDt90" title="Can't Find Paradise" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Nope embed in forums don't work try a regular link although you can just click the link button in here, they should have that everywhere, dumbasses.

Good to know copying the embeded code will work.  I usually just copy the url of the youtube vid and paste it in a space after my comment, then hit enter again and the link should turn blue, thats when you know it worked.

You just know if a crop circle shows up, there is usually some kind of old stone circle nearby...  ;)
