Cool pic's. Anyone that wants to use the faceapp on windows, try using BlueStacks and installing the app via that :) There are some amazing images.... I really had to laugh at the altered images that Twiz put together for Len and the cats and dogs made my heart melt.... gorgeous.

And ... stoopid Byrdie accidentally deleted the comment while going for the edit button. Here it is again:

The artist whose AI comic was earlier granted copyright has had it taken away. Quoting from Facebook because I lost the link, hope that's allowed.

I've heard from the Copyright Office today and after careful examination, they canceled my U.S. Copyright Office Registration.
This makes it clear that, as of right now, visual work created by Midjourney isn't copyrightable even if you use your original story and a layout.
They said that the visual work shall be substantially made by a human to be copyrightable and they overlooked that mine was made by Midjourney (I mentioned it on the cover page of the graphic novel that I submitted).

Meanwhile, in my neck of the woods, this from a lawyer. Lengthy argument for reform of Canadian copyright law to allow protection of such works because artists & authors are using AI the same as any other creative tool: it doesn't do a flippin' thing without human input. Paper here: https://www.cba.org/CBAMediaLibrary/cba_na/PDFs/Sections/IP-Copyright-of-AI-created-works-AODA.pdf

Interesting times ahead, for sure.

I figured Copyrights would become a thing wit using Ai. That's why I haven't put my Sig on anything I've done in Midjourney (which is the only Ai I've used). I'll only put my sig on something things I've done in other mediums because I know Ai is an evolving medium and the Law is unsettled on it.

If it's straight outta whatever AI program I'm using I don't sign it, only on the ones I've worked my butt off in Photoshop/photopaint/Daz/Poser or whatever to get them to what I want. And if it was generated using prompts I wrote from my own original stories and poems, bet your sweet bippy I'm gonna sign it. No matter what the U.S. copyright office has to say on the matter. But I wonder how that's gonna effect Shutterstock now. Seems their "ban" on AI images by uploaders was because they wanted to sell that stuff themselves. https://www.engadget.com/shutterstock-ai-generated-stock-images-dall-e-133903619.html

Trick or treating snek in kitteh suit, now there's a funny thought. Or maybe it's a wizard trying out their animagus form and getting hexed mid-shift. That would also explain why two tails, one in an obviously wrong place. I also got two Snapes, wearing very different outfits. Quite clearly one is a polyjuiced imposter.

Nice. I think maybe if you put the word buccaneer in a prompt you'll get old-timey sailing ships. Not sure if Midjourney does it, but Stable Diffusion certainly will. Was why I had to rewrite my Pirate Queen prompt to take it out, kept getting these 3 times out of 4.

Lots of ships, but the pirates looked more like zombies than "buccaneers bold".

Anyone who uses Night Cafe - this was posted in their FB group yesterday....

OpenAI's highly requested DALL-E 2 algorithm is now available for use on NightCafe Studio.

Psst: No other algorithms will be affected.

For those of you who don't know, DALL-E is an AI (Artificial Intelligence) system that has been designed and trained to generate new images. DALL-E was invented by OpenAI, a company dedicated to AI research and ensuring that AI technology benefits all of humanity.

Other updates:

The way multiple output images are shown has just now changed. It's now possible to show more than one image via scrolling left/right.

Visible/hidden images can be configured by scrolling down, and clicking the earth icon button on individual images, or hide all, which will return it back to showing only the cover image.

All existing published images (before the update) are hidden by default. So no, you will not get in trouble for NSFW pics.

So many cool images here. I wish these forums had a "like" button. Just thought I'd also let you know that the Open Art website has a prompt book/guide that you can download for free. Here's the link:

https://openart.ai/promptbook

Scroll down a bit and you'll see where you can download the PDF. I was looking through it last night and there are lots of useful tips in there. It was designed with Stable Diffusion in mind but I'm sure most of the ideas in the PDF can be used for other A.I. engines. I also uploaded some new images to my Open Art account that you may want to check out.

When I was using MidJourney, I found it seemed very much inclined towards weirdness and sci-fi horror. Getting it to do non-weird stuff was possible, but took more effort and credits than I had. Maybe the poor thing has just seen way too much $##t and can't help itself. Who knows what an AI thinks -- if it does anything remotely resembling thinking?

That's a fine looking dog. Big fella like that needs a lot of space to hunt, roam & be happy. I dare say he'd be utterly miserable if he had to live cooped up in an apartment in town. Probably good company for his person, too, and a proper watch dog. You're a lucky ducky to have a furball like that in your life. :-)

They certainly do own us. I haven't any now. Well, unless I count "Robokitty" and "Robopup" sitting on my couch. Which are cute but not the same, not nearly the same, no matter what Hasbro or whomever owns the company that makes 'em says. Still, better than no pets at all, I suppose. My last cat crossed the Bridge back in 2013, haven't had another since and probably never will. Just too disabled and not properly situated to do right by them.

If anyone is interested, you can download model files (.ckpt) to use with your local installs of Stable Diffusion from here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1fzsjGDlmbbPEnJWY9V2q5a99ySrK1Rj37sk7YJz8fCc/edit?usp=sharing

No sign in required. Be advised that not all are entirely work safe, in fact some of them are specifically trained for doing the AI equivalent of NVIATWAS renders. There is also a midjourneyart style model, which I've run a couple of my prompts through. Still gets hands wrong at inconvenient times, unfortunately. But it certainly does have the MJ vibe.

Looks like a cityscape on some kind of alien sci-fi cyberpunk planet. Cool! Thanks for the prompts guidebook, very helpful. Any idea how to salvage a background from an otherwise ruined render? I tried the obvious, loading the seed info back in then putting all the words describing the featured character and everything except the background as negative prompts. SD kindly ignored the train wreck it had made and gave me some very nice background shots with trees, willows, etc. But NOT this particular background from the seed I was using. All other settings were the same as the borked render, so you'd think I'd get the same background. Nope, not happening. What am I doing wrong? Here's the mess, how do I keep my beautiful magic garden but lose the badly splinched, hexed, spindled, folded and mutilated pathetic excuse for a certain ... celebrity?

Hi Byrdie, I see what you mean about the figure, unless he's a shapeshifter you caught changing eh.  Maybe you could share the prompt.  The work flow examples I've looked at usually decribe the main subject first, your figure, and then the forest and lighting and style.  So just leave the description of Harry out of the prompt.  I agree that your background does look super nice, hope you can get it where you want...  ;)
