why you dont want to make morphs in carrara?
zbrush or sKulptrix ?

Simply? Carrara doesn't even remotely have the modeling capabilities nor sculpting capabilities of wings3d and zbrush. Which I use.

I don't understand your response misty. Yes Zbrush is very good for morphing... In a more free sculpting capacity. Thats why I use it. Wings is very good and fast for sliding edges and tweaking individual verts, box modeling style geometry alterations. ... Maybe my question isn't clear? I've clarified a bit further at the Daz Carrara Forum....

okay. sorry. i'm confused about what you were trying to do.
i'm a big fan of wings too. i still use it for uvmapping and making texture templates lov wings style cut and connect edges.
trying to be accustomed to carrara extract along
in between carrara and wings, i run my objs thru uvmapperclassic to let it check for out of range uvs tho, dunno if thats needs to be in my workflow anymore, but it makes feel better lol

I too use Wings to map my models. I've found that if all of your uv shells are within the uv workspace boundries within Wings then there won't be any out of range errors upon import in other environments. I use UVMapper Classic (still) to generate UV templates in pdf format for photoshop. And occassionally to strip out extraneous .obj file sections like normals lines. Most apps automatically generate those lines upon import. Anyways...

Not so. I use version 2. Given to me about a decade ago I guess. Works fine for creating the simple things I do... I also work on an old power mac g5 that's not connected to the internet. Again. Fine for what I do...

Hi. I'm using carrara to render various .obj format models I've made. I'd like to be able to create morph targets for these models in an external modeler (not carrara) and import these into Carrara for use. I've looked around and haven't been able to find any clear, concise directions about how to do this. I'm using static models. No body parts. Not .cr2. Not Carrara rigged figures. I'm not using Poser or DS. I prefer not to use Carrara's vertex modeler for morphing. I use wings 3d and a couple of other softwares for modeling. I have years of experience with Poser and have created figures and props for that app... I no longer use or have Poser installed on my work computer. Anyone have a workflow they'd like to share?
