Yes they should, it's still a WIP, lights need sorting, exhaust (underneath the side skirts) needs sorting, mesh on the doors is rough, the tyre's need maps for branding/markings, the interior needs materials sorting , the list goes on.

Never mind, my humour is sometimes wasted :) I merely meant that you seem to be quite talented, sorting out textures, etc. It's certainly more than what I am capable of :)

Jack (or Jill perhaps!?) of all trades, master of none, The 3D modelling itself I'm at a basic level - done bits here & there, assigning textures to the model is straightforward(ish), most of it is simple stuff I'm doing, still gonna take a while though.

I had a lot of difficulty at first because there is a bug in the current release candidate of luxrender that causes it to crash if you animate with the firefly reducer (outlier rejection) turned on. Reported it on the luxrender bugtracker so I think the devs are going to fix it before the offical 1.0 lux release.
So some of my frames are getting fireflies, but since it's animated you won't notice them as much. And some of it I can clean up in my compositer when I go to add in visual fx / color grading.
I did one animation just to see how the light would look on the subdragon and how the normal maps would make the texture look. Ironically, my animation itself was pretty crappy (just keyframed it in 10 minutes).

Here's a question for Paolo. This last render I did w/o a background and using the alpha channel option. I, also, used an ibl w/just the light and no accompanying background image. With this combination and a LOT of metal textures(the entire suit of armor - five pieces plus sword) set to a medium shine and custom metal; the bree shaders transferred over to mihrelle's wonderful Elana texture(all body parts covered by armor were set to matte); my rendering speed was like 6 to 8 times faster than what it normally is for a model wearing nothing but a skimpy bikini. Any reason you can think of for this happening? I sort of felt like a minor league pitcher throwing a no-hitter in my only big league appearance. It gave me a taste of what my new computer will feel like at like 1/3 speed.
Not sure if anyone else has felt the same phenomena.. but having my settings dialed in nearly perfect and seeing my render going at blazing fast speeds was nearly addictive.
While I was thinking about skins, I decided I just had to redo my close-up skin test with one of my all-time favorite skins... Charlie & Neve from Callad(yes, our very own Callad) and moonbunnie (if you don't have it yet, it is available here on Renderosity: http://www.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/charlie-neve-for-v4-2/75271)
The first shot just goes to show the superior quality of the skin texture I think, this is straight out of the box!(no material adjustments) amazing results! This also illustrates how good a job Reality does converting materials for LuxRender.

This second shot is the same scene, but with the Bree ACSEL shaders applied to the Charlie & Neve skin. This is a straight copy of the shader set, no tweaking of any settings. Not sure if I like it any better than the out-of-the-box version, but it is nice.

I played around with tweaking the Bree shader settings, but couldn't come up with anything I thought looked any better. My skills are still in their formative years :)
I'm thinking of doing this same scene with the Dublin textures (which I bought specifically because of my current obsession with skin textures )

PPS- I have a question about the artifacts appearing on the chin and jawline in these images... I tried using subdivision both with and without micro-facets, and tried moving the camera slightly and the lights, but couldn't get rid of them. It is happening with other textures too. Any ideas on how to get rid of these ugly blemishes on my renders? Kind of disheartening seeing this on Genesis.

When writing/editing the post, right click the image you want to be clickable and select add/edit hyperlink, in the pop-up enter the url for the fullsize image and select open in new window from the dropdown menu.

I recently started burning off content that I no longer use or no longer like. I've only went through a smidgeon of the content I have and I've only been working on characters and hair so far. 2 Dvd's full of hair sets and 3 full of character sets and I still have like 30 gigs worth of stuff I've not even sorted through. Little over 4 grand at last count on the stuff I've burnt off. I don't know of too many ppl who are content addicts like me.

You're small-time, Just checked my DS content hdd, 116Gb so far! I'm a shop-a-holic! (my bosses wife and my o/h got me loads of that stuff though).

abi.. 139 gigs of content that i either use, don't want to get rid of or haven't burnt off yet.. that plus 4 dvds of content that i have burnt off already.. it's slow for me because I'm adding every bit of content i've ever bought into a 3d content database that i got off a buddy in the daz forums.. i look up everything so that i can record the content url, cost and creator
i'd say 98% of it was provided by my former employer.... took me a bit to decide whether or not i wanted to use content that i didn't buy w/my own money.. but i decided that buying w/the company c/c works too.

I'm slowly making my way thru installing mine still, I'm creating metadata for each item if there's none as I like using smart content, I didn't bother before and my runtime folder just looked like a grenade had gone off in it, shrapnel everywhere!

I know what ya mean. I had been cooking up my own metadata nearly from the start; but there was no real clear organization to it. Since my system rebuild; I've gotten down a clear pattern to how I categorize things and am sticking to it.

Yes both scenes are saved as DUF files since I am using 4.5 which no longer simply load 2 scenes together

I know what you mean, I have a system I use to categorise content, however it does get annoying when content which does come with metadata doesn't follow it, I have to spend even more time organising items which should be eaiser to install!
