Subject: Surface Replicator Question

GreenHawke ( ) posted Tue, 06 July 2010 at 1:08 PM · edited Thu, 09 July 2026 at 4:30 PM

Hello and thanks for reading this...

Is there a way to limit the area for a surface replicator?   For example:  If I had a terrain I was applying a number of plants or tree to, but wanted an area free of them, how would I let the surface replicator know?

Thanks!  I'm using Carrara 8 Pro...

This tutorial at HowieFarke's site shows the use of a distribution map to control where things get replicated.

Thank you, Raven.  I'm checking it out now!

That is an excellent tutorial. I had used the surface replicator many times before, but the "dithering" of the distribution maps was something I might never have thought of myself.
