Subject: C6Pro Right Mouse Click Behaviour

Gordon_S ( ) posted Sat, 17 November 2007 at 9:29 PM · edited Sat, 11 July 2026 at 2:24 PM

Hi,
This may be a dumb question, but I'm not seeing the answer in the C6 doc.
I grew very accustomed in C5 Pro to using the right mouse button to pop up the little screen menu to select Scale/Zoom/Move/PanXY/Rotate/Dolly/Bank, etc...... That was the default right mouse button behaviour in C5, as far as I can recall. It is NOT the default  on C6, and I'd like to re-set it so that it behaves the C5 way. How do I do that? I don't see anything preferences, but maybe I'm not looking in the right place. Page 172 of the C6 documentation SHOWS a picture of the on screen menu, but I don't see that it tells any way of activating it.
Anyone know the answer?
Thanks!
Gordon

It's still in the Vertex Room at least!  Odd one that they changed it in the Assembly Room.

Yes, I don't understand it. Been annoying the heck out of me. I used that constantly on C5.

I looked around on the DAZ Carrara forum. Didn't see any solution for the missing "ghost" menu problem. DAZ apparently decided to delete it from the Assmble room functions for some reason. Be nice if you could set the mouse behaviours in the Preferences panel, as in Amapi Pro 7.5.

Not that it helps you, but I dont think I have ever used that right click other than in the Vertex or Spline room anyway--was it that it was only there in versions  2-4 in those rooms?

In so many apps it is amazing that so many working methods vary.

The right-mouse click in the assembly room for the ghost menu was altered to a selection method within the scene.  I liked the ghost menu in C%, but I find the right-click selector in C6 is very efficient (and very reminiscent of Bryce, on which I was weaned, lol!).  However, there are now keyboard shortcuts for dolly and bank and such.  I don't think that made it into the manual either.

Well, it was just something I used all the time. You kind of miss things when they go away! 😄

I can't freakin' find the doc for the program.  :)  I didn't even realize the right-click was missing.

Go me?

i think if youre using the latest, you get it from the Daz site for Carrara... They have the 7 User Guide and the Online manual, and I usually go through both often. The user guide is more for "whats new in 7", but thats ok by me... ALOT of the online manual makes references and uses pictures from when it was still called RayDream.....

But you pick what you need when you need it =P
