That is amazing. Of course, most cats are gods (just ask 'em) so surviving adverse conditions seems like par for the course.

Yup.  That video doesn't tell the whole story.  The cat was kept at the animal
shelter for a day or two, then the owner showed up to reclaim it.
So it's a happy ending.

That's good... I may be flippant, but I definitely want no harm to come to the lost kitties of the world. 😄

when I was a kid, we have this dark cellar and there are moments there are meows coming from there. One time we opened it to clean when we saw a dried and hardened cat inside. Its eyes are eaten up by ants but it is remarkably well preserved maybe the bacteria didn't thrived in such a dark area to decompose it and it was a hot summer that dessicated it. Its furs are intact but he is stiff like cardboard.

I guess the cat got in there and never found its way out in the darkness.

Passion is anger and love combined. So if it looks angry, give it some love!

I asked my cat and he said he wouldn't be so stupid to get caught in a couch for that long...LOL!

I was wondering about that too.  I'm not a cat lover but I've lived with them often,
and I really can't imagine a cat staying trapped in an upholstered couch.  Trapped
in a brick wall, yes.  Trapped in a place that can be bitten and clawed to shreds, no.

The cat may have been injured or sick. Cats have a peculiar tendency to hide when they're in pain... it's the same brain mechanism that makes them run from a threat. Of course, they can't escape internal pain, so they just stay hidden.

I've had to rescue many a sick cat from under beds and other hidey-holes, often at the expense of some arm skin, when not even tuna and catnip would get them to come out.

Cats whether sick or not love hidey holes, up high places and behind things. These are places of comfort and protection for them especially if it is female ready to give birth to her kittens. You will find cats in the strangest places and in not so smart places either. We have to make sure the dryer door is closed always if it's left open especially after a load has been done the cat will sack out in the dryer. If the door is left open we have to check inside the dryer to make sure he's not in there.
Cats will also hide up inside the wheel wells of your car very close to the engine compartment during winter. If there is any place they can squeeze into they will.

This poor cat may have gotten in there, got stuck and then with no food or water became too weak to get out. On top of that with the moving of the couch and all the people the cat may have felt threatened and when that happens it takes a long time to get them out.
