Subject: Particle Baking

craftycurate ( ) posted Sat, 09 August 2008 at 10:55 PM · edited Sun, 12 July 2026 at 3:13 PM

Is there any way to bake particles? I'd like to export let's say frame 30 of a particle animation as a 3Ds or whatever.

I'm using C5Pro but it doesn't look like particles have been touched in C6.

Is this possible? Particles are not included when exporting a scene as a 3D file.

Thanks
Richard

I never saw a way to do that...
BUT, I tried here and works!

1 - Just create the emitter.

2 - In the Assembler Room set the display for the emitter to MESH.

3 - go to the frame number that you want to "bake"

4 - go to the Model Room with the emitter selected

5 - Inside the Model Room go to menu EDIT / Converte to Other Modeler and select Vertex Modeler

Back to the Assembler Roo the mesh will be there...

Thanks ... what you describe does work. It doesn't work though if you choose a scene object as your emitter particle, which is what I was hoping to be able to do.

Cheers

Trying for an instant asteroid field, huh? (Or am I thinking along the wrong lines here?)

Interesting concept about exporting though... takes notes
