Subject: Dreaded Sparklies

I have a default ground shader(StoneandRocks) on an infinity plane with a client logo, models etc and camera move in.  Everything looks great except a terrible flicker in the animation on the ground. (Same terrible flickers in using shaders on the ocean object too.

I have to blurr each image in paint program (over 200 frames) and then rebuild the animation to use.  I render frame sequences and then put together in an NLE.

My question is....How do I get rid of this within Carrara 6Pro.  Is it a shader setting or some other that I haven't found yet.  (Only 4months in as a Carrara User and other prog I've used LW doesn't do this)

Any guideance would be appreciated as I love this program.

Cheers

infinite planes with textures will always flick... you need to use the mipmapper plugin:

Its free

This can happen even with the procedural textures on terrains. Animations don't require the same level of detail as still images. The answer is always to reduces the texture detail.

Good point Mark.

I'll tone'em down.  Didn't want to take you away from the CP6 Pro Tuts :)

Cheers
