Hello

I have repeatedly tried to open a poser file in carrara.  It says loading then goes to 100% yet the little loading box stays at the top of carrara..plus the scene opens in a very abstract 3d sort of way so I am unable to actually see the scene and when I render it I only get a small part of the scene.

Hello Jack, Can you provide what version of Carrara and Poser you are using? Also, are you bringing the Poser scene in through the Native importer or through Transposer? Mark

Thank you for your response.  Its carrara 5.01 pro and I have tried poser 6 and the file is a poser 7 file and I have tried both methods of importing.  Please advise and thank you.

As I understand it, Poser7 is not ,and will not be, truly compatable with Carrara (Not  a  fault by Daz/Carrara). Your problem is probably the Poser7 connection. There are many threads giving part solutions /workarounds to the Poser7 problem

was it that daz refused to release an SDK for C5 to e-frontier? but it really doesn't matter whose fault it is. the key is to direct jack and others to the work-rounds. e.g., export obj files from P7, which is a bad and inefficient method IMVHO.

We'll need a sticky for how to import Poser 7 models into Carrara 5.1.

Thank you everybody.  Anybody want to add how to import a poser scene into carrara?  All workarounds welcome.
