Subject: TransPoser and Poser Native Import...

jartz ( ) posted Mon, 12 February 2007 at 11:45 PM · edited Thu, 06 August 2026 at 6:43 AM

I'm quite new at Carrara 5 and I have some questions in regards to Transposer 2 and the Poser Native Import.

First off: what's the difference between Transposer 2 and Poser Native Import?

--Secondly--
While making a Poser scene say with a Figure, with clothes, hair (transparency) and so forth, I save my scene.  Go to Cararra 5 to import my scene.

I try Poser Native Import, and imported my scene, only to have my figure, clothing hair and all not conforming the way I have set it to be (maybe I'm doing something wrong here).  But, when I use Transposer to import my scene, everything look the way I have it -- only when I try to select the said figure to do some shader corrections.   For instance to make the hair or eyelash transparent, it won't let me edit while on Transposer.

I'm sorry if I don't have a screen shot to show you what I mean.

I may stop on over Daz3d and see what I can come up with.

Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated.

Thanks for looking,

JB

The special Transposer Help should be under Help. ( It will  have been in the download of Transposer.)

The basic thing is that you have Poser and Carrara open /connected so that you can make changes in Poser that are directly accessable back into Carrara..  You don't have to do that, but that is one of the many features that Transposer has over the basic Poser importer.

For Native Import, try advancing the timeline a frame or two past the first frame. Works sometimes...

When using transposer, you can still adjust the shaders to make eyelashes transparent, etc. However, you'll need to be in Carrara's Shader Room to do it. Important note - changes made to textures in Poser AFTER you've done an intitial import into Carrara will NOT be updated within Carrara, only the pose gets updated. Mark
