Subject: Hex2 DAZ reminder

Hi folks. Just a reminder that if you have the Hex 2 DAZ $100 voucher, many of their items that are on sale now will be full price after midnight tonight PDT. A little more bang for the voucher buck if you pick up stuff now... ;) Mark

2006 Price Reduction has Been Extended 2 More Months!

DAZ is keeping prices locked down through the end of June! Due to the wonderful response from customers, we’ve decided to keep the lower prices on over 1200 DAZ Original products all the way through June 30th, 2006 (23:59:59 EDT). With an average savings of over 50%, and discounts as high as 80%, these are the best prices ever offered at DAZ. Keep voting with your wallet and these prices will become permanent!

mark, i can sue you for false advertising right?=P
its on daz site, and was in weekly news email couple days ago

The Toon Alien is the only thing I found so far that I can spend some of my $100 voucher on without being asked for my credit card.  Other items that do not have a PC attribute seem to want additional money from me.

If you look at the New DAZ Originals, you should see that you can use the voucher for all of those.  The Published Artists products do require some cash outlay though.  Too bad, as the PA products are more tempting to me.

Any item should say all vouchers can be used. For example the headnbody morph kits. If another artists created it, not DAZ, it is likely you can use it for upto 50%. Resold sw, for example, you can't at all I don't think. There are some nice models in the 1.99 discount tho. (The articulate dragon skeleton looks nice, no voucher tho)

Good thing it's been extended! I think I remember getting that e-mail but promply forgot it - before the merger I recall. Yes, check out the "New DAZ originals" and just go through the list. DAZ has contracted with some of their fav modelers on some things (I love Noggin's work). Jcleaver is right, some nice morphs, models, hair... and some stuff that I wouldn't use in a million years. :D Mark

Some of the stuff that was on sale isn't tho now.  Yeah, Noggin's great. I did put dogwaffle in my cart and went to check out to see what would happen, it showed my voucher info and didn't say I couldn't use it so that may be a resold item that is ok, just no pc club discount. The skeletons and muscle maps are nice. I got a couple of things, but I think I will wait for carrara plugins and see about items I don't have.

So you folks have your membership and voucher? Apparently they are being distributed selectively.

I didn't actually receive notification - I just went and looked in my DAZ account, and there was the voucher. Go take a look and see if your's is there yet. I have to ask stupid questions because it's something I'm good at ;) : This offer was for those that pre-ordered; you preordered, correct? Mark

Mystic-Nights ( ) posted Tue, 02 May 2006 at 5:20 PM

Looks like most of the items that were on sale have been placed back on sale again.

ren_mem ( ) posted Tue, 02 May 2006 at 6:02 PM

Yeah, they are going to continue those thru june or july. They just automatically went off then had to be reset.

I purchased Hex 1.0 roughly one week before Hex 2.0 was "released." At the DAZ forum and elsewhere people, including DAZ PTB, have said that is "pre-ordering." Another email yesterday, and still nothing added to the account.

I'm no spoksman for DAZ or Eovia but if they're going to be picky, technically you did'nt pre-order. It looks like your "offer" was to buy Hex1 and then get a free upgrade to H2. My understanding was that the $100 voucher was for H1 owners that pre-ordered H2. People ranting in fourms that aren't actually employees of the companies involved don't always have the absolute say in what happens. ;) But, I may be completley and totally off track - it's happend before. : D Hope you get the voucher!

ShawnDriscoll ( ) posted Thu, 04 May 2006 at 1:03 AM

Those that bought H1 in time got H2 for free.  H2 was the freebie item in that case.

DAZ has explicitly said that purchasing Hex 1.0 before March 31 constituted "pre-ordering Hex 2.0." This is reasonable, since I certainly would not have purchased 1.0 one week before the release of Hex 2.0 if I had known that I would be able to get Hex 2.0 for $1.99 by waiting a week. Eovia's promotion in March made it very clear that a purchase of Hex 1.0 was equivalent to a pre-order of Hex 2.0.

To interpret the purchase of Hex 1.0 a few weeks before the promised delivery of Hex 2.0 as a compelling need to have Hex RIGHT NOW!!! is legalistic BS. If DAZ chooses to weasel out of giving people in my situation the "great deal" they offered others, that will simply confirm what I've said about their business ethics, and I'll consider it one last lesson in the wisdom of trusting software companies.

mickmca, I would call it pre-ordering too. Why would you buy hex1 otherwise? However, call them on the phone, they have an 800 number.

Mystic-Nights ( ) posted Thu, 04 May 2006 at 4:43 PM

Nope, the two were different. Eovia had one deal going if you bought Hexagon 1.2 then you got a free upgrade to Hexagon 2.0.

Then they had the pre-order deal going where you paid for Hexagon 2 and also would get the bonus pack. I believe the pre-order deal was an extra $100 over what users had paid for Hexagon 1.0.

I bought the Carrara 5 and Hexagon 1.2 bundle, so I got a link from Eovia to download the free upgrade.

Well, I see what you are saying. But, many wouldn't buy a sw product that would be obsolete in a month. They would have had to buy the new product when it came out by waiting a month.(big deal) They paid for a license at full rate before the product was on the market. This is the real reason for the program (buy hex1 get hex2) to not have people wait to buy for a month while others preorder the upgrade. So I say in the interest of customer service... Personally, I don't believe in pre-ordering. I made this an exception ONLY because of the money involved and because I trusted Eovia. I am happy with my situation, but I could see someone being upset after spending 200 on a product not out yet, then others getting it for $32 It would also depend on if they got a discount or not. I got an upgrade for $99(nominal discount). If you paid close to full price then again, like I said, I would be miffed.
