I was busy saving money to upgrade ro Carrara 5 pro to use MatchMover Pro and Syntheyes. Now I just discover that these programs are not part of Carrara 5 pro but must be purchased separately. Carrara only imports those files. So I am depressed, especially when I saw the pricing, it is waaaaayy out of my budget. So are there alternatives? Thanks.

Also PFhoe, hopefully will support Carrara soon.Might want to ask them. They talked about doing a plugin. It is much cheaper than both(altho syntheyes is the better deal of the 2 above) http://www.thepixelfarm.co.uk/Forum/default.aspx?g=posts&t=24 Unfortunately, it cost money that would have been amazing, but not at that price. These companies have to earn a living.Syntheyes cost less than camera equipment. Motionbuilder is also expensive. The 2 apps that are free listed above are great applications also(Voodoo is for non- commercial use tho).

This voodoo seems interesting, so how do I get from this to something usefull carrara. I don't mind to upgrade to pro if that is needed. I am also a fulltime programmer, so I could create soms conversion to a Carrara format if people can put me into a direction of the file fomat used bu Carrara? :-)

I haven't tried it yet personally, but I know that someone was asking about it on the yahoo list. Here is the little bit discussed. I think they are going to report back after experimenting. You would need pro for matchmoving tho. I don't think you could do it w/ standard.If you look at a non-compressed car file that may help.There is also an sdk you can request. I don't know what the mm format for voodoo is in.

Interesting the .car file is a text file when not compressed. The voodoo creates a text file so it must be easy to convert I guess. The big problem is now findng time to make something to do this.
