Another member and I were talking and he is going to work on a project very similar to this. I tried this in a couple of hours to see what kinds of matting would be required. Came out OK and was fun to do. -Kix

Very cool Kixum. What's happening here? I'm very curious about this look. Excellent. Stan

One of those times when the image is not telling the story! I think I can see something but I don't know what--or why? In other words, whithout knowing the aim it just looks like a mistake!!!!

True. I'm going to put a slightly different version up in the gallery but really, the whole thing was just an experiment to see what it would take to make the image. -Kix

Make sure you have the most current video driver from your manufacturer installed.

A portal to another ... time? Do you know something I don't know? Interesting light effects!

Did you edit it later, to blur the projection (map on plane ? ) forground? Photoshop? I like it. Reminds me of an inspirational poster - Like a drop of water at the bottom of a dry well.

Never Give Up!

Here are the four renders I used to compile the final image. The second image is matted over the first and the light cone on the left side of the image is matted out. This leaves only the light cone passing through the arch to the right side. The third image is then matted onto the image but only the part through the arch is shown by using the mat in the fourth image. -Kix

Perhaps put a bit of fethering on the edge of the matt, it looks a little too crisp on the arch of rocks (actually a bit remanisant of some Ray Harryhausen works. The skeleton is a great touch as it helps link the two scenes.
