...make exhaust trail to this kind of image? Should I use particles, glowing cylinder or what? I just bought Carrara and I'd like some tutorials... I checked quite a few, but I didn't find what I needed.

Maybe you could try the Fire. Locate and stretch/shape to meet your needs?

Thanks for the tip, bwtr! I found out also that Eovia's site had tutes about the same thing (I am a fool, not to check there in the first place...). Here's the final, maybe I'll use the model in more ambitious picture scifi cityscape or something...
