Hiya gang. Jeff Matsuda (The Batman cartoon, Jackie Chan Adventures cartoon and various comics) has given me permission to render some of his designs in 3D. While my first was his version of Hellboy (which I only did a bust of), I have decided to do some of his other charactrer designs in full body and rig them for my own pleasure and his. Here's what I have so far. Visit Jeff's site to see the original design. The toon feel of his work will keep me from getting bored with all the hyper detailed stuff I've been doing. I hope. Comments welcome.

Thanks Baz. The character sketch can be found in the MISC section of the site if anyone wanted to compare.

Cool beans. I actually had updated the model the same night. I just didn't get around to posting it. Here it is. Stu, it's a great program, the topology brush alone is worth the cost and then add that with the future possibility of displacement painting in the vein of ZBrush and Maya's Artisan...what an app! I have to contact Eovia this weekend about my Hexagon software. Still can't access my old HD, they'll have to send me a new copy.

oops...forgot the pic...again, and I should mention that I've updated it since this pic too. This is the update I sent to Jeff.

Jaqui ( ) posted Sat, 16 July 2005 at 2:22 AM

what pic?

laughingnome ( ) posted Sat, 16 July 2005 at 3:29 AM

yeah you forgot the pic again Teyon ;) im really liking this program so far , havnt had much time to play with it as im rebuilding my own system at the moment. the UI is what makes it so good in my opinion, its really user friendly, the navigation lets it down a bit but its workroundable. its got a really good toolset but no marquee select that i can find this slows it down a bit for point editing. these are just personal observations not a dig at the app. unfamiliarity with the tools is probably cuasing me the most problems that said its not a big problem and one i will cure soon ;) definatly a steal at the price they are selling it for. in my opinion its a seriously good program well worth trying the demo if nothing else. im thinking bout doing a product reveiw for this for 3dcommune if Micheal hasnt already done one that is :) stu

Sorry gang. I fell ill...bad Lobster. I'm slowly recovering here and can post the pic I didn't get too yesterday. There's areas I need to work on once I can concentrate more, mostly the upper sleeves (or is it sleave?) area needs to be re-positioned. Oh and legs and stuff. Okay, here it is.

Teyon ( ) posted Sat, 16 July 2005 at 9:05 AM

Oh hey, sorry Stu, missed ya there. You can drag select by holding down shift and you can also use soft selection but yeah, there are some simple tools I miss in it but I'm told the next version covers lots of issues like layering, etc.
