Welcome, welcome. I'm in NYC too. Best thing about Carrara is the community. Second best thing is I don't have to devote every waking hour of my life to studying 3D or a specific interface. There's definitely more to Carrara when you are ready for it, but your pic prooves you can do great-looking images right away! Cheers! holly
Corrected the typo.:) And WELCOME! Check out http://www.3dxtract.com is my first suggestion. The best thing about Carrara is its community. The software is great, any software can be great, you really need a big friendly community to support it and Carrara has that. Feel free to ask any questions. Brian

Hi everyone, I'm a long time bryce user ready for a change. I am attracted to carrara because of the similar viewport camera controls, the sweet render options, and all that jazz. Anything I should know to get started? I probably won't actually buy it until september of next year because I am working over this summer in the mountains and won;t have a computer. I am using the demo now and above you can see my first image after about 25 minutes of tinkering. It is a mock-up of my photography show I will be putting up next week for school (I'm an NYU photography major)Look forward to being part of the community!
