Hi everyone, I'm a long time bryce user ready for a change. I am attracted to carrara because of the similar viewport camera controls, the sweet render options, and all that jazz. Anything I should know to get started? I probably won't actually buy it until september of next year because I am working over this summer in the mountains and won;t have a computer. I am using the demo now and above you can see my first image after about 25 minutes of tinkering. It is a mock-up of my photography show I will be putting up next week for school (I'm an NYU photography major)

Look forward to being part of the community!

I am also a former user of Bryce. I too was attracted to Carrara for it similar interface. When you add the modeling tools and great fast renderer, Carrara really shines. Welcome to the forum. Ed

Welcome! We can always use more 'mad' people! Good luck in the mountains!

Yep, I'm another Bryce user (formerly) and you'll really enjoy not waiting a couple of years for a render to finish.

It looks like you may be able to design the perfect photo gallery! Environment design and photography exhibition begin to merge...

Welcome to Carrara. This forum will teach you everything the manual left out. I'm living proof of that [LOL].

Welcome, welcome. I'm in NYC too. Best thing about Carrara is the community. Second best thing is I don't have to devote every waking hour of my life to studying 3D or a specific interface. There's definitely more to Carrara when you are ready for it, but your pic prooves you can do great-looking images right away! Cheers! holly

Corrected the typo.:) And WELCOME! Check out http://www.3dxtract.com is my first suggestion. The best thing about Carrara is its community. The software is great, any software can be great, you really need a big friendly community to support it and Carrara has that. Feel free to ask any questions. Brian
