Subject: A look at the New Terrain Editor and Realistic Sky

The image demonstrates the beauty of the new Realistic Sky. And the detail the new terrain editor can produce. The bumps you see are part of the fractal generation of the terrain and part of the new terrain shader system. I'll post shots of the shader system later. ps. Thats a 100x100mi terrain. And I can still dolly around the scene. I'm telling you OpenGL is MUCH improved in CS4 and so is the Eovia realtime engine. Some surprises I'll show for there as well later.

Nicholas: Are the distributions preset or are they some how programmable? I notice that each distribution has a number of tabs, so I am thinking that they are preset, but just wanted to know, Thanks, Vin

Not sure what you mean by presets. The distributions are controlled by procedural textures. Its something similar to the elevation and the fractal shaders. You do have a good deal of control of the distributions.
