Thanks everybody. I'm glad you think it's looking better. I could still use some more suggestions, though. What else should i include in the kit? I really want this to be the kind of thing where you look at it and say, "WOW! All that stuff for only $24.95? What a bargain!" (and not sound like a paid actor in an info-mercial) So what else do you think the town Kit should come with? I'm thinking of adding stone wall sections and gatehouses, in case you want to build a mediaeval "gated-community" like the town of york... And I will be making a haywagon, and a cart or two, even though you can find a few for free on the net. The reason is, if you lived in the 13th century, and you walked into a town, and you noticed that EVERY cart looked EXACTLY the same, every house had EXACTLY the same woodpile in front, You'd think the place was cursed, and run away as fast as you could... I would too. I'm even going to make multiple barrel textures. Variety, like details, is the hallmark of a realistic image. So lemme hear some suggestions! Please!
I'd say the roofs eave line is OK, it just need more pitch and a discernible ridgeline. The walls, on the other hand are way too precise and regular. These buildings were hand hewn. And beams are more massive than posts. In the last week or two I saw photos from the Hobbiton movie set in New Zealand. It's a great blend of asymmettry and big roofs -- thatch is thick Good luck.
heh I was planning on doing a project exactly like this, starting next weeks (exams right now) I've sent you an e-mail asking if you'd like me to help contribute (with my very limited skills) - I don't want any profit from this for myself or anything like that, I just want to see a fully functional village =) SewerRat

Well, I remodeled it, and retextured it. It's still not done, but it looks like I'm going to be rather busy this week. I still need to add: knobs for door and shutters chimneys threshold doorjamb And I'm not entirely happy with the way the thatch roof came out. I need to do some remodeling and retexturing there... But otherwise, is it starting to live up to your expectations? Now, my goal for this project is not to recreate an entire village, but to produce enough building types and props for the consumer to be able to create sets for all or at least most of the exterior shots they would need for a fantasy story.(all for $24.95) This will be the inn, of course, I'm planning on a peasant house, a shop, and a stable. And Colt, I'm sorry, but I can't seem to find a free cart or wagon anywhere. Can you post a link?
