I'm all thumbs when it comes to particles - I'm trying to get a sparking effect from a welder - does anyone have any hits, tips or tricks or can anyone show me any examples. thanks

I'll set something up tonight and post it. This is something that should be really easy to do! -Kix

Here's an image and the settings that I used to generate it. The particle size is 0.08 and they are diamonds in shape. I've also applied anything glows to particles and that can make a big difference (see my 4th of July Cone image in my gallery). Hope this helps as a starting point. I used C 1.1 for this example and it may take a little bit of tweaking to translate it into 2.0 which has a somewhat different set of dialogue boxes. Hope this helps! -Kix

P.S., I tilted the particle emitter about 50 degrees. -Kix

Oh yeah! Duh! I shaded the particles with a simple white colored shader with full white in the glow channel! That will make a big difference! -Kix
