  • Gallery of the week is Aviation Genre Gallery. There are dozens of genres in our Renderosity galleries. We'll be featuring several over the year. Aviation, while not a massive gallery, has well over 7,000 uploads which focus on aviation as a central theme.

  • Vendor awards are being announced this week. In addition to the Vendor of the Year, All-Star Vendor of the Year, Product of the Year and Rookie of the Year, we are adding the same awards but for "Exclusive Vendors". Stay tuned for the announcements. Interviews and videos are to follow

  • Book Review: Sculpting From the Imagination: ZBrush. gToon reviews a great new book on the digital sculpting application ZBrush, published by the excellent 3DTotal.com

  • 2017 Independent Games Festival Finalists Announced. UBM (producer of Gamasutra.com and the Game Developers Conference) established the Independent Games Festival in 1998 to encourage innovation in game development and to recognize the best independent game developers. Dozens of great animated films have been nominated most of which are available for screening online.

  • Cinema 4D Inspires 3D Animation and VFX Workflows for "Dr. Strange". The leading design studios Sarofsky, Perception and SPOV were involved in the creation of main-on-end-titles, previz, medical animations, and the design of the new Marvel Studios logo for the movie. All three used Cinema 4D for their inspiring work.

  • Interview With Comic Book Artist Mick Gray. In 1989 Mick began working for such DC creations as Hawkman, Legion of Super Heroes, the Joker, CHASE, Son of Superman, and Promethia. The list of Mick's work as artist, finisher, and inker is lengthy. In 2001 he won a Comic Con Eisner award for best single issue of Promethia (the intriguing odyssey of a college girl turned mythical warrior).
