Happy Holidays to all!

My name is Marjorie and I am from San Diego, California, USA.

Used in this image? Brushes from Adobe Photoshop Elements 6  (the brushes came with the newsletter I received from Adobe), and  an old Santa photo that I had saved from an old card.

Inspiration? The look on a child's face as she looked at Santa for the very first time, not out of fear, but more, "who is this?"  She just kept staring at him with her big blue eyes and this was the magical point  that is so beautiful.

Wishing each and everyone of you the very best for the holidays. May the New Year be a peaceful and blessed one.

Real name is Andy Wachelder but I dropped the 'ach' for my handle  to avoid sore throaths with the non-dutch. Born and living in the Netherlands together with my wife,  two sons, eight cats and a dog. Oh, and I'm 53 years old/young.

The image is entirely made with Terragen2 Deep edition, no post work involved. The objects are the default XFrog trees as they came with Terragen2 and sphere's beit with a twist.

The inspiration came from an old and slightly sad Christmas story I heard as a kid about a fir that wanted to be "The Christmas Tree" so it decide to grow taller than every other tree in order to get noticed. Well, it got noticed , was chopped down and ended up on the village square to become that year's Christmas Tree. To honour its demise all the other trees (miraculously) lit little candles on Christmas Eve. I was smashed the first time I heard that story and didn't want the little tree to end like this, so now I depicted it dressed up with bulbs and lights amongst its fellow trees.

I wish you all a great Christmas amongst your beloved ones and a prosperous, healthy and happy New Year.

The Miracle of the Christmas Trees
by AndyWelder

I'm Gill Brooks (Gill short for Gillian as I often get mistaken for a man!)  I'm 48 and married to Stuart, and we have a Border Collie/Springer cross named Tex.  We live on the edge of a village in Staffordshire, England, not too far from the historic Cathederal city of Lichfield.

When I was much younger, I used to paint on canvas using oils or acrylics.  Like many, I found 3D and 2D computer art programmes years later and once I got back into it - I became addicted.  I admit I almost always do postwork on 3D renders. To me, they never seem quite finished until I've added some personal touches to them.

I have many programmes to use but my favourites are Vue, Photoshop and a lovely (cheap) pragramme called Twisted Brush as it has some wonderful pseudo artists brushes.

Vue 6 Infinite.  The image was originally created just to make a thumbnail for the free Christmas Tree but I liked it so made a larger render.  I used Rosewood Cottage by the late Ironhart - I love that cottage.

I'm lucky enough to live very close to a sizeable forest - an ancient Royal hunting ground called Cannock Chase. It's only a few miles from my home and I'm there several times each week, walking our dog.  There's a huge variety of trees there and I watch them change through the seasons.  I love their shapes, especially in Winter when the bare bones are visible.

We also have a holiday caravan in North Wales.  The scenery there is breathtaking and has also given me so much inspiration.  Can't wait to get back there next year.

I lived in a town for 15 years and was surrounded by brick and concrete.  It made me appreicate the countryside so much more.  I love where I live now and want to transfer that beauty to the 3D world.

I would like to wish everyone at Renderosity a very Merry Christmas and hope that 2008 brings them every success in whatever they're doing.

My name is Steve Pinchbeck, I live with my wife Diane (also known here as Diandra) in a great little seaside town called Whitstable in Kent, UK. I'm 42 and have been a freelance graphic designer for around 9 years now, before that I was a Royal Air Force Police Dog Handler.

The image was entirely created using the models and textures that both my wife and I made. The Gingerbread Man was an idea I had over one weekend and it was fun putting him together. I set up the scene in Poser 7 and rendered it using the FireFly renderer. All the lights are using Raytraced shadows, which is something I haven't used very often in Poser, as generally I use Shadow Maps. I then used Photoshop CS2 for colour correction.

I take inspiration from life in all shapes and forms. Now that I work full-time building products to sell here at Renderosity and elsewhere I am always looking for places, people, colours, skies, etc. that will give me a spark of an idea. I think the secret is always to have an open mind to any possibility. I am lucky in that respect though as I never tire of being inspired. I already have a lifetime of ideas I want to do, I just need to find the time to do them.

I want to wish everyone here at Renderosity a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Also a very big thank you to everyone who has commented on my images or bought my products, I really appreciate your support.

Oh Crumbs!!

Hello Everyone !

My name is Mina Sindley and I'm from Florida, USA. Sometimes not the easiest place to get in the Christmas spirit since we're lacking a lot of the usual trappings (think snow),  that go along with the Season. But then again, it's really not about trappings, now is it...

In creating this image, I used Photoshop and PSP7.  Obviously, the inspiration for this image had its genesis in Christmas, but so many of the wonderful artists here give me inspiration !

Since I've been a member of Renderosity for over 2 years now, I feel I've grown as a digital artist and certainly learned a few more things along the way  :o) So many people always ask me where I get all my ideas from...well, lots of different things seem to just pop in my head and give impetus to a new image: song titles, poetry, books I've read, current events, historical interests...well, you get the picture  :o) And like the ol'  "which came first , the chicken or the egg thing,"  sometimes I'll start with an idea and title and go from there, or often it's just the image that comes first and then hopefully when done, the Muse will bestow upon me, and the image, an appropriate title  :o)

So in closing, you know I'm wishing you all a most Joyous Christmas and a healthy and Happy New Year !

Love & Hugs
Mina

I'm Ken Wellings from Williamsburg, VA, USA.

The image was created with Vue 6 Infinite and the idea was to have an understated Christmas scene as simple as life on the prairie must have been as the country was beginning to grow.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday to all the fine folks here at Renderosity. I wish you all the best for 2008 as well.

I am Margit from Vienna/Austria

I used Vue 6 Esprit creating the image with free objects like the house (from A.Gracia) and the torch (sorry don't know any more), the textures are my own. The fireworks I added with Photoimpact 12, also the writing.

My inspiration for this image was only that I wanted to send wishes to the very nice people here as I did most of the years since I am here :) Of course I had an image in my mind with snow and lights. For me, Christmas has to be with snow and some cozy cabins and with crackling from the fireside. And no stress anywhere, that's maybe why I located the cabins high in the mountains lol. I have some wonderful memories of my childhood when Christmas was so full of atmosphere with snow everywhere and there was no stress ...

Of course I want to wish Happy Holidays to everyone here! A Merry Christmas like it was in earlier times .. with no stress and gifts from the heart. And I wish you will get back a little piece of warm humanity like it was once when less was so much more. And I wish you all the best for the New Year! May you always be happy and healthy and may peace be with all of us!
