Nice colors and contrast and I like the subtle movement in the dress. It adds a bit of interest to a scene that would have been very static. I like it. If I can make a technical comment, and this is purely a personal observation because I don't have any idea of your underlying goals. You mentioned a "test of thirds"...I'm assuming that you mean composition. If so, the sections in this read more as quarters, e.g. the figure is in the left quarter division. I'd suggest measuring the composition into thirds and place the figure on the left third division line and see how that looks. I also like the idea of the triple arches...that would really enhance the "thirds" motif. Also, try measuring the horizontal thirds and place her head in the upper left intersection of "thirds" lines. That would give the figure more prominence as well. Just something to try out and see what you think, and as I said, just my takeo n the composition. Very nice work though.
