Tis that time of year when the sun casts very long shadows.
Many of these blinding looking-into-the-sun shots are due to good fortune when squinting into the LCD monitor.
Those are floribunda rose bushes to the right.

You speak of 'good fortune' when taking these looking-into-the-sun shots, but I'm positive your innate eye is at work even when you're squinting; I've taken into-the-sun-shots and I didn't get any of the composition or shadow play you got here. The sun is nearly centered, atop, and it defines the whole picture; and it's marvelous how the light spills onto everything (including a lush amount of flare); and the shadows are marvelous. With Bill, it jumps right off the page and into one's lap. Wonderful shadows, and the cars on top are like the city came out to show it exists, while the rest of your shot is really empty of humans---even though it's full of street texture, light contrasts, and a lush looking bunch of floribunda greens and flowers. The pic emanates down from the sun...and that one arrow---stubbornly shooting the 'wrong direction'---is a great addition to an otherwise powerful 'perspective' shot: It says 'I go where I want, and the rest of you can go screw yourselves'. Terrific shot, solar revelation graces a sleepy morning street...
