Description
My mother's last photo taken ealy August. She had already had a severe dementia until that night of September 13th when she quitely passed away in her last sleep.

What a blessing, to go in one's sleep like that. It's never easy to lose someone, no matter how gentle the leave-taking. I love this view of her, sitting in the sun. It's a dramatic and striking photograph, and your treatment gives the feeling of calm in the center of a storm.

A perfect way to go. So sad about the dementia, my mother also had that. The pic is great, Tara says it well.

Your title "To vanish in the light" could also apply to this image. A gentle and very warm picture of your mother. She must have been a good woman to be rewarded with such a peaceful ending. There is an old belief that as long as a person's name is spoken they are not really gone. Make sure your grandchildren remember her. My sympathy to you and your family.
