Description

This boulevard is next to my home. It leads from two roofed tennis courts, a small children's luna park by a roofed skating rink to a closed farmer's market, supermarket, movie theater- all in a short-walk distance.. This May is being unusually rainy causing clouds of mosquitoes and bright green foliage and grass. Thanks a lot for viewing, commenting, and faving my works. Be well wherever you are.

It looks very beautiful in your photo, and your narrative makes it seem like an urban paradise!

I have been trying to find the blossom here ? and then I found them, ah ! - it's been such a long time, since I have seen a spectacular like that in Europe and trying to imagine what the whole tree must look like - probably more like a Christmas tree, with candles ! Thanks for the memories Nikolay, I also like the atmosphere of your hometown, despite the 'damp' conditions, but the Mosquitoes are another story - no friends of mine ! Those lampposts are just magnificent and so is your always beautiful manipulation 'touch-up' ... makes me feel like, as if I were walking right among the other people there ... BB

a canopied street scene, where your postwork made it seem like a painting. But you postworked it without losing the photographic presence. The area to the right of the lamps (our right) looks like a reflection of what's on the left of them...but it's not a reflection, it's a continuation. Fluidity all over the right half of this image...And your postwork has gone up and down the image as if with a palette knife, leaving vertical strokes across it. (I'm not saying you actually did that digitally, but it's how it looks.) And you've brought out highlights---esp in the darker sections---like they were oil paints: light hues upon larger areas of dark hues. It moves from darkness and mystery to light, left to right. And the center is a rain-lit walkway with people in the background...you got just the right moment, because the open walkway is beautiful and peaceful, and acts as a prelude to "where the people are". You do such subtle things in your postwork, you maintain the photographic integrity of many of your images but you still make them look like they've been run over with brushes and knives and other physical mediums. In fact, there's a hint of other images blended into this---to where, even if you didn't blend anything, your postwork suggests it. Moody, evocative, open and sheltered...more mystery of cities from you. And those reds and yellows are swaths of intense hue in an otherwise muted piece. Beautiful...
