Just a bit of fun..
Ar can be deadly serious when it comes to taking out bad guys, but she also has a fun side that can burst out unexpectedly. She recently found a neat poster of the apple of Popeye's un-popped eye, and decided to have some posing and wardrobe fun. Such a joker this Girl is!
The inspiration for this came last night as I was hanging out with a few of my Twitch buds, Chris Cox, Jay Versluis (WP_Guru) and a few other fun folks (most are members here as well..) We were watching old public-domain cartoons and chillin' and just having a merry Christmas. We were joking around about Olive Oyl, and I made this wisecrack about Ar posing as Olive. So, naturally, I HAD to do it! LOL
The virtual get-together, and doing this image has helped my mood immensely. I've not been in much of a cheerful mood, hence the lack of a Christmas-y upload. I've been fighting off a lot of depression lately, but stuff like this is great therapy - and a lot less expensive than "counseling."
I've been doing a lot of writing to keep my mind (what's left of it) occupied, and yes, the TNA story is moving forward - and things are going to get interesting... to put it mildly. Stay tuned.
Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas, and I truly hope 2022 will be a MUCH better year for all of us! Take care, stay healthy, get those shots / boosters (getting our boosties soon), and let's beat this thing!

Ar makes a much more appealing model the Olive Oyl ever did! LOL! I never did see what Popeye and Bluto ever saw in that stringy chicken legged dame to fight over her they way they did! Even her voice could wreak havoc on your years! LOL! A most excellent contrast, Rod! I love it! Glad your art work has good remedial effects on your emotions! so one can carry on conversations on Twitch? (I'm ignorant, try not to laugh...) I'm glad you spent such time with them...and I'm sorry you've felt depressed. You've had one long year, Rod, but you picked it up with this great Olive Oyl rendition---you really caught O.Oyl's posture and her great costume as well. I love Ar's expression, like she's getting into this w/ real panache. Love the contrast of the two, and the decayed wall (right out of popeye---he didn't hang out in Palm Beach or Rodeo Drive, lol.). You've modernized Olive Oyl. Love it. (And tell me: Why was popeye so attractive to Olive Oyl? He had a voice that could break windows, he smoked constantly---and you gotta assume this WASN'T premium tobacco---he ate spinach out of a CAN, and he looked like one of the Bowerey Boys...I'll leave that question for another time, but frankly it irks me...) This is delightful, Rod, she's proud, a real model, and tongue-in-cheek.
I love that you watched old cartoons with friends, on Chrismas. You know what? I'm absolutely sure that if christ came back and saw you guys watching Popeye and Betty Boop and the Roadrunner, he'd forget his calling and say, "fugget christmas: Move OVER!" He'd plop down, eat popcorn, down a few beers, and watch the Roadrunner go "bee-beep!" for an hour and a half....I haven't commented much, but I'll catch up, I'm just slow now. (I've seen everything, I just haven't committed praise to paper yet.) Have a good last week of 2021: I'm sure you won't miss it when it's gone---I hope the next year is SO much better for you. Belated Merry Christmas! (Hey, and one day, you should have one of your women do Betty Boop..."boop-boop-a-doop"...)

Thanks as always for the wonderful insightful words, buddy! Yeah, I think whatever Popeye had in that pipe was a bit off the normal market stuff... That explains how he could blow into that pipe and make it sound like a steam whistle on a tugboat! LOL
Spinach out of a can.... GAAAAHHHH.... That's pretty disgusting stuff... Almost as bad as canned asparagus... That stuff is just nasty! 😆

Good lighting and posing. I think if Olive Oyl were like Ar, she wouldn't be the damsel in distress who's always waiting to be rescued by Popeye; instead Popeye would have a great companion who can help him take out Bluto anytime -- without spinach! :)

Really excellent! That's just hilarious. Nice job matching the outfits. Popeye always reminds me of distant memories of my dad when I was a kid. I remember time he'd come home during the day for a break or whatever and we would watch some cartoons together, mostly Popeye if we could. He would genuinely laugh at their antics from Popeye to Brutus, Olive Oyl and Wimpy.
