Hi everyone, I would like to thank you all for the kind comments and the faves and just for being there for my last image, you all are so kind. Hope you are well, and that you like this painting I have been working on for weeks. Of course the little puppy takes centre stage again it seems lol, take care, hugs Jane
A Princesses Tears.
An elfin princess found a puppy one day
who was fearful of everything in every way,
The puppy had nobody at the time he was found,
he knew that this princess for life he was bound.
He gave his loyalty forever and she gave him back happiness
He gave her unconditional love always, she was his princess
The elfin princesses prince had disgarded her by letter one day
The puppy placed his paw on her arm as his tears fell away.
He felt her pain and sorrow, her world fall apart;
All he could do was to cuddle closer toward her heart.
As his paw touched her arm, as her tears fell from her face
She looked down toward him sharing their moment with grace
The prince had discarded her forever, it had clouded her view.
It was then a smile befell her, letting her beauty shine through.
Her soft little puppy gave her comfort as she stroked his fur
His warmth, love, and loyalty, came from within, for her
She was the winner although her prince had cast her aside.
She knew that for the rest of his life her little dog would be by her side.
She cast the note from the prince to the floor not believing it to be,
All the love in her heart was given to just one now, who sat on her knee.
The prince's rose had sharp thorns, her thumb bled and the rose shed tears
Why? ... she thought; her love for the prince was so deep for years
Although the puppy that she had known for just a few happy days,
as she loved and caressed him, her sadness and despair were all erased. ������©2010 JaneEden

How sweet that the puppy also has tears, and even the red rose, symbolizing love, seems to be shedding a tear. I say good riddance to the heartless Prince who could not even tell her face to face, and so glad that someone much grander has taken his place. Sis, you really are one of a kind and this world is such a better place because of people like you. What a lovely image, it is one of those you find yourself getting lost in as you try to take in all the details. That puppy is of course adorable, and he is comforted by the Princess in such a loving way. They are offering comfort and protection to each other even though the little guy doesn't realize it. The story was so moving, and really touched my heart. The Princess and the Puppy were truly the winners, because they were both better off without that poor excuse for a prince in their lives.
