You have a definite feel for capturing the spirit of a scene, time, place or feeling, via a human being, making her or him an embodiment of that spirit. This woman doesn't just look like she's 'out' in the winter wind, but like she's embodying the winter wind. While some of the grain on her gown is from blowing snow, it melds with her gown to where it seems at one with it; she seems dressed in something that was unearthed from the spirit of winter itself. (I love the texture and grain of her outfit, and how the snow interacts with it.) The howling wolf---I assume that's not a polar bear, only because it's howling (don't see a lotta howling bears around)---adds the right feel to the image because it's a melancholy image; and the mist rolling in the background (and the pine trees) make it feel all the more like winter, like she's on a lake in the tundra, with a lone lantern to guide her on her journey. The moon adds a perfect touch too. Very mysterious and magical and melancholy...very sensitively done, Barb.
