Description

Follwing an interesting conversation with mightymysterio here another attempt to come to terms with Felton. I really liked the idea of that character, however "out of the box" is different. Here I exchanged the skin shader with DG Fur Shader (Iray Fur, Flocking, Scales Shader Presets by Destiniy Garden). Since I found no separate eyelid (@ mm: either) to choose, they just blended into the general skin. Tried also the new Oso Fur shader, but with that, the eyes disappeard under the fur as well. Thanks to the hint from mm I used G2M's clothes, which conformed rather good (and better than stuff from G3M). So, if you are into illustrations for kids, you need to be patient and should have a certain amount of stress tolerance. But then again, if it's for *your own* kids, you already might have the necessary capabilities, anyway ;D. Thanks for commenting (or sharing your ideas about Mr. F.)

Wow !! You had mm as an image consultant ??!! You have a charmed life, RRun. :-D

I don't cross over (as of yet, concept is everything) into the toon area but I can admire a well-crafted render. Nicely done. :-)

This is a fun render and a fun character you created. Thank you for your dedication!

I'm happy to have shared some ideas with you. The fur shaders work about as well as I thought they would! Swapping in some basic shapes using either primitives or simple objects made in Hexagon or Sculptris in place of the default nose can really expand the usefulness of Felton.

I know that figure-specific UVs aren't very popular, but I think Felton would have benefitted from them (if only for the eyelid issue you noted).

Yep, at first I made him blue and he quite looked like Grover. But because he looked a bit like him I changed him to that green color now. Didn't want to have a call from Jim's friends, you know....

Or the Animal, one of my fav's...
