A couple of working friends from Savannah stopped by early this morning to wish you a Happy Birthday! They said, "We know she appreciates abstract art and the color purple...so here we are all duded out just for you Tara. We weren't sure about the yellow, so, if she isn't crazy about it, we'd simply like to ask her, 'What's a matter hon,...you got something against yellow?'" Topaz filter: Ametrine

I love it when your artist comes out to play! As a photograph this is fantastic, and I hope you'll post the original so people can see it, but with the purple and yellow, it's a whole 'nuther thing, and it's outstanding! And no, I have nothing against yellow. LOL! (People will think we're crazy, but honestly, I love that inside joke so much I don't care.) All the shades of purple and magenta, from nearly black to vivid pink, are perfect with the bright and pale yellows. I looked it up, btw. Amatrine is a naturally occurring quartz that is purple and yellow. See what you can learn? :) Not random at all. At least not THAT one! :P Love you, hon! Thank you for the beautiful birthday image.

so what's this big "yellow" secret? It doesn't sound like an insult, I'm trying very hard to see the 'humor' in it, and I don't remember tara having any particular feelings about yellow one way or the other---so it must be an 'inside' joke, as tara puts it. (Like: Ok. But where's the catch??? "Hey folks, getta loada this: Tara hates yellow!!!! Wink, wink, nudge, nudge..." And your audience is thinking: "Whaaaaaa????") I never thought I'd see an abstract from you: This is terrific, Bill. I must say, I haven't a clue what the original photo was, but I love the piece. Oh---wait! I see them! Horses! Right? (Don't tell me this is a lamp-post---I'll never come back!) Horses---right? Ok. So you turned them into lava, and beautiful flowery textures, and liquid color, and great flame-like yellows. Glorious. It's great to see you go abstract; and you got really sensual feelings in this. Terrific piece for your wife's 60th birthday. H. Birthday, Tara! And many more!
