Description

Hello Rendosians ! Here is another capture of my last vacation in Greece. This image comes from Pyrgos Kallistis (Πύργος Καλλίστης) or Pyrgos. This charming picturesque town is located on the Santorini Island in the Aegean Sea. Pyrgos means "tower" and there are many villages with the same name in Greece ! Curiously, Pyrgos is a rather quiet town compared with Fira or Ia wich are very touristic. I even prefer wandering there because the streets looked so old and typical. I liked the contrast between the blue sky and the white walls and between the two doors (the blue one looks so old !) This image is for the Santorini lovers !

Fine capture. Disoriented geometry of the buildings is probably caused by land movement over time. Makes one muse on the short time we all have on earth.

Rien que la petite porte bleue, à gauche, est une merveille...alors, que dire du reste de la photo ? Superbe, tout simplement superbe. Dis-donc, c'est un riche qui vit à droite, derrière cette porte impressionnante ?

Superbes couleurs et superbe qualité de l'image et de la lumière... Santorini c'est le Santorin ? le volcan qui a explosé et qui pourrait d'après certains être à l'origine du mythe de l'atlandide?

Une superbe photo expressive à souhait, qui évoque pour moi la 'farniente' méditerranéenne, loin de la foule des touristes, baignée de soleil et du chant des cigales...Le contraste violent des couleurs dû à la lumière donne ici beaucoup d'authenticité à ces ruelles qui donnent envie d'être parcourues, l'appareil photos prêt à dégainer...Cadrage parfait, lumière paradisiaque, bref, du travail de pro, la Souris !

A beautifully captured scene Virginie. I loved Santorini, but I missed this little town. As a matter of fact I loved all the islands we visited with their white houses and colorful doors, windows etc. This shot brings back fond memories!
