Creating an Ancient Greek Hoplite Shield in Blender and Substance Painter

Oh Lobo, you have no idea how timely this is. I'm in the middle of beta testing a set for one of the HiveWire Contributing Artists that's very much into Ancient Greek mythology, and one of the props is a nice shield, though more aristocratic than a Hoplite, so this definitely got my attention. BOOKMARKED!

I noticed he is also offering this on Gumroad with additional bonus stuff like compositing in Photoshop and and full scene file for only $4

Yes, I saw that, but didn't go to Gumroad to see how much. That's a pretty reasonable price. I don't have Substance Painter, so it wouldn't be worth it to me, but at least I can play with the modeling portion of it.

The subscription price for the substance suite which includes Painter Designer and Bitmap2material plus access to substance source where you can download a set amount of ready made textures a month is pretty great can always try the trials and see for yourself

Hmmmm, something to think about.

There have been many improvements in the work flow between Blender and Substance now if Zbrush would make a official GOZ for Blender it would be awesome there is a GOB addon but it has not been up dated in so long and not sure how stable it is but with Blender making so many jumps into the mainstream maybe it will get made crossing fingers
